Actually I would have given that's impossible because 10 was announced some months ago and the holiday season wouldn't have resulted in such an increase.

No if you actual research you would see it's not worth the cost and it's not a dry cut solution because there isn't one for this only minimising. Not to say they don't need to upgrade their infrastructure but just to prevent DDOS attacks is not justifiable.

Really those countries don't matter or add that much because even MS with their promises about delays being for localization of content don't deliver that to a lot of those countries. And going by updates from Spain and other EU countries doesn't seem like it's selling well or at least to the extend guesstimated by VGcha...
Hmmm it's a fact they do that. Afterall how the hell do they not update their guesses when Sony officially announced 10m which wasn't updated for like 2 weeks.
Probably hard to track down because for ones they will be using things like VPN's,Proxies to hide their IP and the attack itself comes from millions of affected PCs that act as bots to be used in the attack.
