Are they saying that the new discs will play holographic content or that the new discs will use technology called holography to increase capacity? Both would be cool, but to be honest I really don't think we are ready for 3-dimensional holographic gaming. I always thought of 3D as a cheap gimmick, especially because of the cheap glasses and corny effects. Like, the guy on screen would point his finger and his finger would pop out of the screen. Whoop dee doo, how cool, NOT. Another quest...
I'm not very knowledgeable about the strengths and weaknesses of graphics chips so I am very interested in learning about these three companies. For a long time now I think that the main graphics card war has been raging between AMDs ATI models and the Nvidia GeForce model chips. I heard that Nvidia was better but that ATI was catching up. The next generation of consoles is going to see an even bigger battle as companies will have to choose whether to support MS or Sony. In this gen, IBM ...
Microsoft probably has to face the fact that their next console is going to have a very unsuccessful launch. I for one am not going to buy it for several months, maybe even a year in order make sure that it doesn't have an underlying problem. So I assume that MS knows this and isn't in the position to release a new console. But it would definitely be a powerful console because as I remember both the 360 and the PS3 were outdated at launch. The PS3 had an older GPU and the 360 had its fair...
This is pure flame bait to incite outrage from 360 douches and splendor from PS3 douches. You guys are going to fight about a one percent difference in sales? Seriously? Someone might respond to this saying that one percent equals millions of dollars, but just so they know, millions of dollars of generated revenue is something that large companies like Ubisoft and Rockstar and Take2 report quarterly. Anyway, that's really not the point. The point is that since all three consoles contribu...
Haha, jk, but if you are, I humbly disagree. You act as if SE is physically being pushed around by Microsoft, so much so that the games are crappy from the physical beating they are taking. Funny to imagine, but wrong. Actually, a lot of developers have nice things to say about MS. Obviously there are others that probably have bad things to say, like Ensemble studios and maybe even Bungie, but these Japanese companies like SE and Capcom say that MS has allowed them an easy access into the...
I haven't played either Killzone games but I know the story. I know that the Helghast were once human, but now they are not. You didn't understand my post very well. What I meant to say about all of these games was that they had the same formula. Arguing with me about whether or not Helghast are aliens shows you don't understand my point. Yes, Bioshock can also be considered an alien shooter game. On the other hand, if you played Bioshock you would know that it has something that the ot...
Every few days I see posts by evidently delusional people who somehow think that articles written by gamers about video games need to have some kind of journalistic quality. WTF? HAHAHAHAH. Are you guys kidding? Most articles on N4G are, and you guys should all learn to accept this, going to be biased and opinionated. The author of said article will probably prefer one console over another and will probably be offering his opinion about a particular game, console, or company. He or she ...
I'm not a Muslim, I'm just scared for my life and the safety of others. It's not out of respect that I ask whoever is in charge to remove the pic, but out of very real fear that some fanatic nut will declare a fatwa or something like that. On a less terrified note, the world wouldn't really be any different without religion. Since people always find things to fight and argue about, I contend that something else would be as controversial and as highly influential as religion and people woul...
He's the president, okay? He doesn't write the story, develop the characters or program the fighting mechanics. That's what the developers do. You guys are just butthurt that SquareEnix is playing nice with the 360. I suppose some of you are PS3 fanchix are upset that SE is not playing ball with Sony as much this gen. Aside from that, I agree the games are not up to par, but that's not something that I am going to attribute to the 360 hardware or Wada. I'm disappointed in the developers...
I don't like to make generalizations but, well actually I do like to and I gotta say I can't really imagine an unskilled Japanese guy. The education system is very rigorous over there, and from what I hear, a lot of Japanese students commit suicide if they get bad grades in school because it brings dishonor to their families. Also, I don't blame Japan for taking these drastic measures by denying foreign workers because the recession has hit them much harder than I even thought. Japan's mai...
Before I begin let me say I am not a fanboy and I like both the PS3 and the Xbox 360.
Firstly, it's just terrible that after several years in the Japanese market, Microsoft has only managed to sell one million units. If I was them, I would just give up that territory because I assume MS spent a hell of a lot of money on Japan and it hasn't been successful. All that money could be used on capturing Europe, which nobody really knows who is even winning over there.

I didn't know about this, and to me it's pretty sad because I got the 360 version of the game and I find it very enjoyable but if I were to play it without the achievements I seriously would not like it. Can the developers expect you to go around all the cities looking for the flags and not get any recognition for it? Now I know why Assassin's Creed got lukewarm ratings from IGN.
On the other hand, it's not right to demand Ubisoft to go back and add trophy support. They're a bi...
I played the first Lost Planet for like a half hour and I thought it sucked because the camera is really rigid. I want to be able to move in close to my character. They should make it like Assassin's Creed's camera, but slightly better. Other than that, the game looks good but boring. I mean, how many games have there been now with the same "Humans v Aliens" plots. Let's see, just off the top of my head:
Gears of War 1&2
Halo 1,2,3,
Half-life 1,2, ep....
Why do people become brand loyalists? I'll admit why I get pissed when the PS3 gamers say things like, "go play your Gaylo 3 or your Queers of War." I get mad because I have played both games and I thought they were both entertaining and great games, overrated yes, but great. So I get mad when people insult me based on the games I play, and I feel the need to defend the game and console as well. However, if you guys go see my comments, if you are able to do that (IDK because I'm...
Infamous, you had already spent your currency on the MS points. MS had accidentally taken more points from you than they should have in the transaction, because of a glitch i.e. no one's fault or evil intent. MS gave you back the money plus an extra 100 points. Did you expect them to send you real currency? They're not obligated to do that and even though I don't like MS very much I think they did something very nice here. They manned up for their mistake. Blame them for their other mis...
I just bought the first game a week ago for only 30 bucks and I gotta say I didn't expect it to be that good. Like a fool, I trusted IGN's 7.7 (US) review of the game and didn't buy it for a very long time. To me, the game is sheer awesome in its scope, not just in scenery but also in scalable ability, as well as the lighting. Sure, there are a few texture pop in issues, but I automatically pretended like it was a "glitch in the Animus" so it didn't bother me too much.
MS chooses the P2P method because the install base in the US is very large and according to their logic, since Americans now have decent high speed internet, MS doesn't have to spend extra $$$ on dedicated servers. On the other hand, Sony has a worldwide install base and just in case region specific PS3 owners don't have high speed internet, SONY gives them dedicated servers. Obviously, as someone from Britain pointed out earlier, MS has users in other regions who don't have high speed and ...
Don't you guys hate it when enemies pop out at you and rush to kill you even in the most hardcore firefights? Some games try to reduce the "stupidity" of AI by programming more options. You know, "if this, then that." Simple formal logic is the main reason why AI is so predictable these days. My hope is that the next gen of consoles will be packed with much more memory. 512 MB is a joke guys. My cheapo laptop comes with a gig, games will benefit from more RAM. More ...
When PS3 owners get extra features or better content, you know what they say to the 360 owners? Stop whining and get a PS3 already. I've heard that one a hundred times before and even though it makes more sense than whining, you guys completely lost your mancards when you started complaining about this. Let's get one thing straight. Microsoft pays extra money for DLC to be CREATED and releases to their console. What kind of business practice would it be for Sony to acquire for free what ...
"And yes, if some how SE launchs the game for the PS3 in 1080p and the Xbox is 720p then many ppl with an xbox360 will consider buying a PS3 to play this amazing game."
Please Allowen, please tell us how you managed to get your hands on a game that hasn't even gone gold or released, considering you already proclaimed it is an amazing game. Be careful, Allowen, we wouldn't want another HAZE on our hands. Square Enix has been making some pretty crappy games this generat...
