It's very different in terms of gameplay but man the story and characters are totally amazing.
Has to be a hit!
If this is indeed the case then I'm really not interested in Natal just as I am not interested in the Wii. If Sony's controlloer is also mainly focused on Wii like games I won't be interested in it either.
If they can make these motion controls work well for a lot of hardcore games then I might be interested.
The only other thing that may interest me with Natal is menu navigation and stuff like that, although I can't see myself buying it just for that when I could bu...
If they don't get the lag sorted out then Natal will be pure garbage.
HOWEVER!!
The recent Natal showing that Channel 5's The Gadget Show in the UK attended used an old version of the Natal hardware as stated by the bald glasses wearing guy from The Gadget Show, he said that SM told him there was an updated version but it wasn't yet ready to be shown for w/e reason so the lag problem may have already been solved.
Anyway the main interest in Natal for me...
Pretty certain Gears 3 will be 360 exclusive.
Gears 2 hasn't come to PC yet and isn't likely to, in fact I'm positive I read a piece where Cliff Blezenski gave reasons why it wouldn't be on PC.
There's also no way this would make it to the PS3, no way MS would ever allow that to happen, pretty sure MS had a hand in publishing the games too which would make it virtually impossible for it to end up on a platform other than 360 or PC.
Either way I'm looking...
If you'd watched the episode of GTTV and read previous statements from the developers you'd know that the vast majority of this game doesn't have pre-rendered cutscenes. There are some as they admit but the majority of it is done in real time.
I will most certainly agree with the demo being childs play to what we just saw in that video.
Won't agree or disagree on your GOTY nominations as it's way too early in the year but what you said about the demo vs this video...can't do anything but agree there.
That was simply amazing and this is exactly why I am a proud, long time Playstation owner and a huge Playstation fan.
Thank you Sony Santa Monica.
If you buy the Professional or above version of Win7 you do get the 32 and 64 bit version in the box.
And as a Windows 7 user I can tell you that it's a pretty good OS and has been pretty stable since release for me and the people I know that also use it. Not one single crash. Of course there will be crashes now and again but it's not like OSX (which is a great OS too) is flaw free either.
Wasn't aware they've cut the price of it.
Also not sure about the US but over here in Europe the free game they gave away was open to all PSP Go owners.
If the pirated copy on my laptop ever stops working, despite me having auto updating turned off then I'll probably just go ahead and install Ubuntu.
CGI is awesome because it can still offer a level of detail that even the best in game engine can't match.
However if they can provide stunning cut scene visuals in real time from the game engines then that's awesome. If it looks amazing then great, I'll gladly have that.
The install won't be mandatory but tbh I like to install whichever game I'm currently playing on my 360 to my HDD. Disc drive isn't worn out, runs quieter etc.
I actually wish the PS3 had the option of installing games to the HDD like the 360 does although that might be a problem trying to install a game like God of War 3 lol.
I'm not an RPG fan at all but if I was buying this for my 360 I would certainly be installing it to my 120GB HDD, all I keep on there are game...
Publishers set prices, not Sony. Apart from their first party published games of course but the majority of games on any platform are 3rd party.
If you were going to be pissed about the price coming down, as it always does with hardware, why not wait?
Anything that is new, regardless of what it is will always start out at a high price, even the cheap as chips Xbox 360. These things then come down in price, that's the downside of being an early adopter for any electronics.
I'd say it's more to do with the tech behind the games, i.e. the engines. Most dev engines are designed as a multi plat engine where as first party PS3 exclusives are all on engines built solely for the PS3. It's pretty clear multi plat engines don't take full advantage of what the PS3 can do and only stands to reason that they sometimes need an install to run as best they can.
Although it's obvious there's a reference to MS and Natal in there, all he really talks about is how Sony will be handling their motion controller communications to the public and industry.
A lot of these articles recently seem to be trying to portray Dyer in the same light as Greenberg too. Not sure I like that brand of journalism. I realise they do it a little with Greenberg too but he is also guilty of pretty inflammatory comments where as Dyer, not so much.
But I simply couldn't see what the hell was going on on the screen.
The Natal hardware will no doubt be capable, as will Sony's motion controller but the success of each will hinge on marketing (including how it is priced and buindled) and the quality of the software. In that respect none of us know how either will turn out.
Fact is not derived from opinion.
That is an example of fact, and cannot be argued.
Basically whether or not a game or anything else is great or garbage is totally subjective and something that is great in your eyes may well be trash in the eyes of someone else.
I'm not saying ME2 is garbage or anything else for that matter, what I'm saying is you can't take opinion, regardless of how many people have that opinion and parade it around as fact.
It secures their financial future meaning they hopefully continue to make great games like Batman: AA for a long long time.
It went up a few places which is nice to see.
I really don't care about sales and don't think sales indicates a game's quality but I do like to see devs and publishers well rewarded for making a game that deserves commercial success.
So for that reason it's sooo nice to see Heavy Rain debut at the top of the charts.
