Ditto. I am so excited. :)
re: your reply to my reply emekcrash: You make a good point about trying to include casual games as well as hardcore players if that's what ends up happening. I'll admit I may have been passionate in my point of view to think of it from that angle. Now that I think about it there are other genres of games that I actually wouldn't mind having that feature for. I'm just hoping they don't make it too casual for their normal fanbase.
I meant if they're putting an option in for the player to be able to skip parts of the game if he or she can't beat them the first couple times then it would seem their demographic would not be the typical gamer that would normal play a Rockstar game since I can't even remember playing a game that had that option other than an occasional Nintendo title. My impression from the article is that they are in fact aiming for a much more casual audience. For me that's disappointing. ...
5 minutes of action per hour? Skipping parts if you can't beat it 2 or 3 times? That's not why I play Rockstar games. That's a big bummer. It was one thing when the game was presented as a detective story with noir themed shoot 'em up, but now that's it's been revealed Rockstar's real audience is casual or even non-gamer people, that royally sucks. :( Why have you turned your backs on us loyal and actual gamers R*?
I'm confused and worried now. The whole premise of the Red Faction series has always being geomoding and using destruction based physics on buildings and landscapes. All I just saw was a vanilla shooter. What gives?
That's the most in-depth interview for the game I've seen yet. Lots of juicy little details I would have asked. If your heart is pure enough I wonder if you can ask the dragon for a wish? I hear being pure evil works too. :)
You can eventually breathe fire with dragon language!? This just keeps getting better and better!! Cannot wait for this. :)
I am soooooo excited for this game!!!! When this comes out I'll try to break my personal gaming marathon record of 50 straight hours, which I set with Oblivion. After that I'll just play till I keel over. It'll be worth it. :-D
I got excited for a sec cause I thought it was a new Thundercats logo.
I absolutely agree!! Guaranteed GOTY. I can't wait for it to suck up hundreds of hours of my life! :)
I can't wait to sink a few hundred hours into Skyrim! IMO when it comes to immersive fantasy rpgs there's The Elder Scrolls and then there's everything else. The only thing that sucks about this article is that I need to go online to see the video - Direct TV stopped carrying G4 a while back, although I'm having a hard time finding anyone else that cares. Anyways, I am so looking forward to 11-11-11. :)
I would sooooo love a sequel to Jade Empire. I've played it at least 15 times and I still love it. Such great characters. My favorite videogame character name of all time is still Sir Roderick Ponce Von Fontlebottom the Magnificent Bastard, who was voiced by the legendary John Cleese. I really hope this happens. That would be the only thing I can think of I would want more than Skyrim.
I've got a pretty similar story. 5 dead 360s since launch and still on my first PS3 Slim that I got a year ago. And yes, MS had to work out the RRoD issues on the first few models, but that doesn't mean you can eliminate them from the overall failure statistics because that's exactly what statistics are for. I'm not a fanboy or hater for either brand by the way, just telling you what happened to me.
Way to make BioWare rush out a half a$$ed DA sequel EA.
Great article. As a long time BioWare fan that's been let down recently I share the point of view of the author. They have a tremendous track record and I still respect them, but I am starting to worry about they're recent dip in quality. The "EA Effect" is the only thing I can think of as a cause. We'll see for sure with Mass Effect 3. It'll either end up being a fantastic game and end to a great trilogy, or will establish a definite pattern of lower quality games f...
Looks like it's going to be something special. And now I want a cat.
Cannot wait! New engine, better leveling, dual wielding, Dragons, sprinting, better stealth, finishing moves, art style more like Morrowind, better faces, need I go on? I am so freaking excited for this game!
Wow impressive graphics! Looks promising.
I've always been a very passionate fan of BioWare and have loved all their games. I think they, along with Bethesda, are the best in the rpg business as well as some of the best overall game makers in the world. But DA2 really let me down. I think pretty much all the points in this article are valid and I think the game was the first big blemish on an otherwise stellar track record that almost any other publisher should be envious of.
Pretty cool abilities and weapons. The level design and graphics were kinda weak though, but I'm sure there'll be more diversity with the full game. I do give them credit for the singularity launcher looking cooler than in Mass Effect. I've always enjoyed the RF series, the first one being my favorite. You could use a grenade launcher and basically blow your way straight through a mountain. Definitely a rent and working it's way up to a buy for me so far.
