I haven't played Duke Nukem yet, nor am I likely to ever but I have to say, if there's one recent release that exposes crap reviewers it's Alice - Madness returns.
It's a sad thing that a game bursting with creativity and atmosphere is slammed because it lacked the polish of most unimaginative, generic big budget games. It's Mirror's edge all over again.

So are you telling me you wouldn't have any problems if all the major review sites reviewed Uncharted 2, giving it a 3/10 and saying things like, 'I hate third person shooters, they all suck so this game sucks too' and 'This game starts on a train and features a character with a moustache so it's no good'??

This is bullshit!! This particular subset of the economy just increased it's quarterly returns to the national aggregate, at least discounting foreign consulting costs and deductibles. I guess that much is true. I only bought Fallout 3 (my first Bethesda game) because the curiosity was killing me, every site was talking about how great it was but everything I saw of it looked incredibly crappy. I only bought it because I was losing my mind not knowing why people were praising it, I didn't expect to like it at all but after about a week of playing it for myself it was one of my very favourite games.
Oh yeah don't get me wrong I'm no fan of Che Guevara. I'm just saying, at least the guy got out there and risked his safety to ruin other people's day rather than doing it all sitting at a computer drinking Coke and inhaling Cheetos. It's best not to be a thug at all but if you really have to ruin other people's good time to make yourself feel big, at least have the balls to leave the house first.

Glad I read this, I was gonna pay the original price and think myself lucky. I never played this game but always wanted to, from the demo alone it seems like it's everything I thought it would be. Even if the gameplay gets boring or frustrating or something, just the world it's set in and the art design would make it worth it to me. It's probably a sad sign but I'm more excited to be picking this up later tonight than I have been for any current gen games in a while.

if this game also has as much freedom of character customization and interactive NPCs (towns full of people to scheme against, help or just talk to) as Fallout 3, it's eeeeeasily gonna be GOTY.
