There should be a much shorter guide for any would-be FPS player who wouldn't figure this sort of stuff out on his own: Give up.
On a different note, since there's a whole paragraph on mouse sensitivity, what in the hell is it with default sensitivity settings in all PC games these days? It's always so ridiculously high that it's humanly impossible to make any sort of precise mouse movements.
Just last night I'm starting ROTT for the first...
It's not the first game to get crazy good (as in, "OMG TEH BESTEST GAME IN TEH UNIVERSES THAT TOTALLY REDEFINES ITS GENRE") reviews and then turn out to be "just" very good after all the unhealthy hype dies down.
I'm sure the publishers absolutely love these overenthusiastic game "journalists" that act like giddy 5-year old girls the minute they see something new and glittery, but, to me, this is just ridiculous and completely unprofessio...
The brainiac responsible for this drivel should be taught some gaming/tech history. Unless he was going for some cheap publicity - bs like this tends to rile people up, me included.
Most games are released across all platforms with little to no differences. Consoles are old, so the system requirements for new titles don't really change that much and gamers don't need to keep upgrading their PCs that often to keep playing new games. There, one mystery of dying PCs solv...
Level playing field may not be the best term to describe what I had in mind. What I had in mind and what I should've said is that the gameplay is luck based to a large extent.
There's very little that sets apart BF and COD if you take games that really let skilled players shine into account. Throw games like Tribes, Quake, UT into the mix and suddenly all this BF/COD bickering starts sounding like identical twins arguing about whose cheek bones are prettier.
...
It's not realistic. It's not meant to be realistic. It's meant to feature a level playing field, so that even the worst FPS player can win every once in a while.
And yeah, it's not much different from COD. It just happens to be the goto game for your unsophisticated MP gaming needs thanks to a clever advertising campaign.
Remember back when some COD released without dedicated server support? DICE was about to release BC2 and they were like, &q...
Baby steps. Give them a few years and you'll be paying for half your equipment, unless you want to stick to the less interesting, shoddy weaponry of course. That is your choice entirely.
Then you'll see a game that is designed around forcing you into spending cash on items. Unless you don't want to beat it. As expected, the game will be met with justified nerdrage. Nerdrage will gradually subside, until such system becomes the norm, as is the case with DLC.
Yes, we must have seen different demos. I saw the demo for Prey 2 and what it is that you saw, I have no idea.
Prey 2 uses idTech. Go look at the models and their animations. The wikipedia page for the game confirms what I said. Google for Prey 2 and idTech if you need other sources, there's plenty.
What didn't make sense was to create a sequel with largely redesigned gameplay and story that didn't really tie with the first one. I mean, when I buy a sequel to a game, I expect it to -- at the very least -- be in the same genre (and that'd be arcade FPS in case of Prey) as its predecessor.
The demo they showed was really lacking gfx and gameplay-wise. Not to mentioned it looked like it used the idTech4 trunk butchered into an utter clusterf*ck by those hacks ...
Kratos, Ezio and Iron Man. Now that's got to be some setting to fit these three into it... Rather amusing, really.
Probably just some Russian preteen angst drama.
I remember I had to enter codes from a piece of paper that came with the game back in the day of Atari 65 XL/XE, cassettes and all that. I also vividly remember I had to go through the entire trash can to retrieve said piece of paper thanks to my mom who deemed it useless and threw it away.
Kids these days, they have it easy. Games load in two seconds instead of two hours and they still whine about DRM. DRM? Hah, at least it doesn't make you dig in trash.
"Midlle eastern, islamic and pre islamic was at one point had been greatest civilisation the world has ever seen."
Not exactly sure what you mean, your grammar is atrocious, but no, it wasn't, at any point in time, the greatest civilization the world has ever seen. The great civilizations of the Middle-East are long gone, their birth and growth preceded the creation of the religion in question and had nothing to do with it. You might just as well ascribe the b...
"thanks to Muhammad’s ethical code for the treatment of enemy forces during war time, we had a basis on which to build UN policy."
What a load of crap. I highly doubt the author's read any Islamic scripture at all; he's probably getting all his info from some Islam apologist or he's one himself. You might want to check up on your sources and do some actual research. The growth of Middle-Eastern civilizations, maths, physics, philosophy etc. precedes th...
Don't you mean "kares"? But yeah, I kompletely koncur.
No need to get all anal about semantics here. Lovemaking is a synonym for having sex. I reckon you're one of them big boys now, so you should know that.
Piracy =/= stealing. Don't compare downloading data to robbing someone of their physical, tangible property.
Cut the double standard bs. If stealing is so wrong and you can't afford buying medicine / food then, hey, maybe you should earn a little bit more? Oh, you can't? Tough luck for you and your family.
Neither. It's got nothing to do with "confidence", it's got everything to do with how certain companies choose to release content udpates and expansion packs for their game. There's no industry standard as far as this is concerned, you're just basing your idea of what the right frequency for releasing content updates is on how WOW and maybe 1-2 other MMOs operate. And the other 1-2 MMos operate this way because WOW does. Try to break the mold and all of a sudden you&...
'A desperate attempt'? Yeah, I'd guess that they're releasing new content to do exactly that: keep their customer base. What's desperate about it, I really don't understand. I'm no expert, it's just something that I've heard, but apparently having customers is kind of important when you're running a business.
I used to play 128-player big CTF games with vehicles 10 years ago and 64 DM games over 12 years ago. What are we going to celebrate next? The inclusion of text chat and mouse support in the next Battlefield game? Get a grip.
Why, yes it is. But this is an FPS game and aiming with your mouse is pretty damn important, so the devs should've changed the UEngine default that irks most gamers and make it optional to change it back if someone feels the urge to torture themselves or at the very least give us the option to turn it off without having to edit the config files.
It's all nice and good if you can change these settings at all. Remember Bullestorm, though? Pretty fun game, but for some r...
