Sounds like a swell idea. Let's do that and when it gets old again switch back to "modern warfare" because, as we all know, these are the only two possible options...

Who cares how much money goes into what? COD, especially played using a gamepad, is still the equivalent of Special Olympics. What is there to say about CS? I don't like the game, but it still doesn't deserve to be put in the same sentence as COD with its S&D mode, the wannabe CS.

Don't get just one season pass, be as mean as you can and get yourself three -- that'll show me. If you're lucky, they'll thrown in some skill and maybe even a clue for f...

The only thing unique about Titanfall is that it's an FPS game for people who don't like FPS games. And yes, it actually bothers me that people like you demand that games be dumbed down to the point of complete worthlessness for everyone else. I mean, you listing COD as an example of a competitive FPS game speaks volumes about how much you know and how well you handle FPS games, so, considering you've never been any good at these games anyway and thus never really liked them, here...

Right. Every negative opinion about the game is the result of jealousy and rabid fanboi hatred. Get yourself a clue.

As "a gamer on the PC platform" you shouldn't be touching this turd of a game with a ten foot pole if you cared one iota about the FPS genre or the platform you'll be playing the game on. People throwing money at this atrocity send a clear message to EA and everyone else who's listening and it reads: "we want more games for casuals an...

You seem unable to comprehend that games are not either perfect or utterly terrible; there's room to highlight all their aspects and rate them accordingly, so save me your puerile fanboi musings. Get this through your head: The gameplay, the storytelling and whatever else you might come up with are completely irrelevant in the context of what's being discussed here. So is your opinion, especially considering the fact that you're so willing to justify Namco's deceptive marketin...

I don't understand why you're getting so many downvotes. It's like gamers actually WANT to be scammed by gaming companies.

The gaming press should be asking the question: why does the game look worse than in the early gameplay videos and trailers? As usual, though, the professional gaming journalists are all unprofessional, silent and worthless. It's a travesty and it's one of the reasons I haven't read a game review in over a decade.

Like I wrote in the comment linked above, you must be blind to not notice that the trailer is composed of gameplay footage featuring both, the old lighting system and the downgraded one, which in turn means that, contrary to what you've said before, it is misleading. There's nothing for me to prove; the trailer is the proof.

Again, you'r...

You've been defending the game, saying its visuals haven't changed and that it actually looks better than in the early trailers. It's now been confirmed that it does look worse, that its visuals have been downgraded and we're waiting for an official statement regarding all this from Namco Bandai. Whether the game is or isn't about visual is completely beside the point. Considering that you've been officially proven wrong, don't you think now's a good time to si...

No, I mean like a game from 10+ years ago. PC games don't feature all the things I mentioned anymore. I was hoping that parenthesis would be enough of a hint I was being sarcastic, but I guess I should've made it easier still.

The trailer you linked to clearly shows both, the new and the old lighting system. The actual game looks nothing like it does in (parts of) that trailer, which does make it a marketing scam. A perfectly acceptable one at that, sadly, thanks to people like you who'll argue that making the game look better in gameplay trailers by using different builds than it actually does is a-ok (see Spurg's comment below). Seeing as you couldn't even notice that, it seems you're not just met...

Wouldn't it be nice if maybe some day an AAA FPS game released giving people the ability to:
a) host their own servers;
b) choose the server they want to play on;
c) make actual ping values visible;
d) put the server browser in the game client so it doesn't have to be restarted every time you switch servers;
I understand we're not technologically at a point where all those things are possible yet, but with great developers like DICE already ...

@Captain Qwark 9

The people who don't care aren't the problem. It's the fanbois and the apologists like LAWSON72 here who care so much about some company's product that they start sounding like they were part of its marketing team, flooding every corner of the internet with their inane drivel.

Releasing a game that looks much worse than it did in the early trailers is not in any way misleading to LAWSON72 or any of his semi-literate, mouth-bre...

It was glaringly obvious that something was off about the game since the last trailer. It looked worse than Dark Souls and possibly even Demon's Souls; most importantly, it looked worse than it did in previous trailers. What about all the gaming videos? Those looked bad as well. Not just the shadow/lighting, but also the animations seemed to have undergone a massive downgrade compared to Dark Souls.

After having watched the trailer, I commented on the graphics being worse...

"There’s also a gun for people like me, people who have never gotten good at key important shooter concepts like, just to name one example, being able to aim a gun. The Smart Pistol lets you kill enemies in a single hit, but you have to spend a few agonizing seconds locking on to them first."

This excerpt sums up the game pretty nicely. It's an FPS game for people who are bad at playing FPS games. It doesn't reinvent the genre, it dumbs it all the way down. ...

I like the guy's videos, but some of the examples of "careful adventuring" he shows are crap. Take the Sens Fortress dart trap for instance; let's venture into the realm of fantasy and assume that a new player is going to notice the triggering mechanism on the floor after having played the game for quite a few hours already and getting used to there not being any. He then turns around, block and waits for the darts to hit his shield. What if there was a monster around the co...

You're right, the FPS haven't yet gotten to the point where getting sufficient amount of kills against kb/mouse players is possible. That's unfortunate. It's also a terrible shame that I can't play racing games using my dancing pad quite as well as those who play them using a steering wheel. I think we'll just have to wait until Titanfall 2 releases and evens it all out.

How PC Gamers benefit from next-gen Consoles? I think it might be a little early for April Fools, Muhammad.

The few months after the release of each new generation of gaming consoles is the only time when the PCs are not held back by inadequate, outdated console hardware and shoddy-looking ports. The last generation of consoles lasted 7 years -- that's how long the evolution of graphics was held back for. How many next-gen console games have we seen so far that pushed the...

I've got mixed feelings about the game. I really love its atmosphere, the artstyle, the level design and how much there is to explore and discover, but it's just so incredibly frustrating at times that it made me "quit" a couple of times for a few long weeks.

The problem with the game is that most of its difficulty stems from somewhat laggy, sluggish controls, bad camera, and tons upon tons of randomness. On top of that you've got the usual case of fight...

Can you _play_ it? Is it interactive? Well, seems like a game to me.

The way I see it is, people tend to use "this isn't really a game" as an euphemism "this game is a nauseatingly boring waste of life". Of course, most people won't admit that in fear of being labeled as simpletons who "don't get it", since most of these games are perceived by some as a form of highly metaphorical, sophisticated art.
