The 670 came out recently and its price AT THIS POINT IN TIME is lower than its competitors. It is one of the top tier single card solutions and I've seen it on sale for $350 ($340 with $10 MIR). Nothing compares to that on the ATI front.

Bah AMD isn't doing so hot this generation. The 670 pretty much blows most of its cards out of the water while being either the same price or cheaper (the eVGA FTW version was on sale for $350 Canadian at NCIX!).
Didn't like how its drivers weren't that great either. Just sold my old 4890 and my 6970...AMD really has to hit it out of the part for me to think about it again.

If a company patents something, anyone that wants to use it in a commercial manner has to pay for the use of the patent. Microsoft was paying but stopped.
