In my experience, those free demos only came with a magazine you had to buy... And even then there'd be no more than 10 games (2 worth playing).

I did try PES a few years ago. It just felt heavy and slow and I've never given it another go.
I'm a little torn on this. While I agree cross play is a good thing for many games and Bethesda are right to back it, I do think they're riding the wave because Microsoft created it.
But whatever the reason for their support, I still think the blame lies with Sony here. They've put up a lot of resistance to good (and more importantly optional) ideas like EA access, mods, and now cross play and the reasons given make no sense. They can't give the real reason ...
Oh dear, this just feels like a pointless article. Bashing MS for doing something better than Sony this gen, purely because it wasn't as all encompassing as the the generation before.
But the reasoning behind Sony being able to "beat" MS in it's implementation just feels to amount to no more than "they'll win because they done it best a decade ago".
Both will have it, I would expect licensing to be less of an issue next gen...
