People talk a lot like Blu-ray is Sony's format. Is it because they invested a lot of interest in the product by putting in their gaming console? It is weird who to blame for killing HD DVD. Do you blame Warner for switching formats which ultimately killed HD DVD or do you blame Sony for putting it in the PS3 which made the format have more sales despite a lower price on HD DVD?
Wow... you guys are having a more rational conversation then the people in the gamer zone. I don't think some people understand what being a fanboy is.
Yeah... this is a pretty smart idea for them to do. I wish more companies did this in other markets. Imagine trading in your iPod for a discount on competing players or trading your Dell Laptop for an Apple Laptop and stuff like that. Then again... with the advent of ebay and stuff... we have the possibility to do somethin...
Yeah it seems there would be some law against this but... it is pretty consumer friendly. I personally like the idea. I know computer software is famous for doing this stuff. Most anti-virus software you can get for free if you show proof of a competing product that you owned.
Why would you ever wish bankruptcy on anyone? Especially Toshiba who developed a consumer friendly format??? To me I feel deeply sorry they lost but I congratulate them for the good effort in the face of adversity. If things had only been slightly different... things could have easily swung in their favor.
On a personal note... I can't wait for the replacement of physical media. Do you know how many movies I have rented or even just bought and the player has trouble readin...
Yeah... the DS Mario Kart was one of the best. I still prefer Mario Kart 64 though. I loved the level designs.
Does anyone else have a problem viewing the advertisement on the right hand side of the page? Not like I like seeing the advertisements but... it helps keep this page free so I'm all for it.
PS... it seems a lot of people are proclaimed fanboys by looking at how many comments on are that thread. I'm glad people can honestly judge themselves though. It makes the site a better site for everyone.
I love the changes. Good work. I especially like the new comment zones. I have long been a fan of games and don't want others to ruin that experience with childish language. I have 2 out of the 3 next generation systems and once I get money I will buy the third. In reality... it is the only way to get the best experience.
They normally don't put the newest titles in bundles or the AAA titles. Xbox gamers will likely buy Call of Duty 4, Gears, and Halo 3 in a moment anyway. So why not put two really good games with the bundle.
Plus... I wouldn't be caught dead playing Halo 3 anyway. I'm tired of getting ripped off by Bungie.
I think this bundle is one of their best yet!!! Normally they put stupid games in bundles that I would never consider buying separate anyway. This time they put two good shooters with it. Rainbow Six Vegas is awesome. I never played GR2... just GRAW but it is probably alright.
If they are marked down to $100 I'll buy it as an upscaling DVD player.
I remember when it was Intel at the top with Cyrix and AMD picking up the scraps. I had friends that swore Cyrix was going to win. I believe that Via bought out Cyrix. Is that correct?
I don't know if anyone of you have tested alpha and beta builds of new operating systems. I have frequently tested both and I can tell you that even in the early beta stage you will hardly see a difference.
That was kind of mean for Steve Jobs to say. He really had no right to say that. Now... if he publicly stated that Microsoft's customer service and relations suck then I would give him like 5 thumbs up because microsoft needs to fix their customer service and quality control.
I got an iPod after having several other music players and it is by far the worst and the most expensive. I never tried the Zune but I have no doubt it isn't better. I know multiple people on their 3 iPods because they keep breaking. I also dislike the built in battery. You can't sort music properly with it, it doesn't support many media formats, I hate the way it syncs when I connect it to my computer, and more. I do like iTunes though and you it a lot.
It seems like Spydiggity has an identity crisis himself... part true gamer and part Bungie spokesman. Who cares if the grass is alpha mapped or whatever... Call of Duty 4 grass even looks better.
As for destructible environments... Call of Duty 4 has that too. There are times when I hide behind a brick wall and people shoot the bricks out from the wall... it is kind of freaky to see. I can't quite remember a moment like that in Halo.
You know what... I jus...
The moment I picked up Halo 3 and there wasn't the promised dash function I felt bored. Then it took me a long time to get in a match just to have people quit and for the game to continue with 4 vs 1. It is a common thing in Halo 3.
Sorry... double post.
I don't know about you but playing gaming consoles has made me about 200% less productive.
I'm waiting for a good to-do list application before I buy the iPhone. The calendar is slightly lacking.
I'm excited as well for a Blu-ray add on for the 360. It is probably bound to happen eventually. Probably when they do though there will be talk of the next console which will make me wait.
If the PS3 comes down in price (I'm a cheap broke college guy) then I will buy that.
