PS. Valve is normally associated with PC gaming, not Xbox 360 gaming. The chief reason Valve developers for the 360 is that it runs on DirectX.

And initial sales don't matter - it's all about legs, about people who continue to buy. Case in point: Metal Gear Solid 4 and Grand Theft Auto IV fell off the face of the Earth after the first month. Neither helped the PS3 sell consoles, either.
It's like saying Paul Blart: Mall Cop is going to be an all-time great comedy because it spent 2 weeks as the #1 grossing film in the US.
