How many of the casual audience will buy a Wii 2? Answer: almost none. Core Nintendo customers drive the sales of new hardware.
When Wiis have been freely available lately, no one's buying them. They're not the "impossible to find toy" anymore. At $250, it's WAY TOO MUCH now. Even Nintendo's president has expressed concern.

The DS has been out for a long long while. The DSi? Garbage. If I wanted a PSP, I'd have bought a PSP, and I still play GBA titles. Oh, and I like battery life, too.
Followed by the N64 and GameCube, which were disasters.

I love my DS, its GBA compatibility and its long battery life. I definitely don't need the tack-on stuff. That's why the PSP failed.
