GTX 470 or GTX 480 in my opinion. I don't mind paying the premium for PhysX & 3D. Mafia 2 is making extensive use of PhysX.
I had a 5870 Xfire setup, & it seemed like every open world game had stuttering. Granted, this was in the first 2 months after they launched. Drivers may have improved since then. Every other game ran smoothly, though, & I also thought that some games looked a bit more "real" rendered on the ATI cards.

Building a PC like this has nothing to do...
HAHAH!!! 300 WATTS!!!!! My old off the shelf Vaio from Walmart had 450Watts almost 10 years ago. Man, I'm glad I started building my own rigs..... Maybe try an 8600GT? I got one for a little rig I built for my sister, & it runs games decently. I gotta hear the rest of the specs...
Lovers gonna love.
I don't even want
none of the above.
I wanna piss on you....

@NecrumSlavery
a 180.
The game looks so good for an open world game on the consoles, a PC version would be beautiful.
Isn't it interesting how EVERY PARENT has these stories about how intelligent & emotionally developed their children are, yet you NEVER meet kids like this?
This story is a useless fabrication engineered solely to get attention.
If this guy REALLY lets his kid play San Andreas, he's a complete scumbag.
The money was a LOAN against FUTURE INCOME so that ROCKSTAR had FUNDS TO USE towards development. It was not an extra payment. Basically. Microsoft just fronted them a large portion of profits in good faith.
Buying my broke sister a copy so we can play multiplayer together.
I can't imagine that this won't be wildly successful. If it sells 60% as well as GTA 4 did, it'll still make them barges of cash.
Awesome. Now I just need the obvious San Andreas sale, & I'll have the whole collection on Steam. I've had Vice City for a long time, & I have San Andreas on disc, but I love the convenience of Steam.
Preordered my copy for the PC months ago, locked in a 39.99 price point. I'm looking forward to this. Should fill the gap between Red Dead Redemption & Fallout: New Vegas nicely.
I already owned the 360 version of GTA 4 & the expansions, but 30 bucks to play them again in much higher resolution, I had to do it.
They released a patch the other day, & you can put settings higher with less memory usage.
You can really appreciate all of the details on the PC version.
I'm glad to have this, among other games, to play while I wait for Red Dead Redemption.
I like that...
I'm happy about the PC version. Well worth $30. My GTX 480 comes in a few hours, & I'm curious to see how smoothly it runs totally maxed out.
Still 37 after shipping.
I'm gonna have to Ebay a buncha stuff to get that thing. I'm gonna wait till mid summer, & let the possibly buggy first batches come & go.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Lynch was the most interesting thing about the game, damnit.
You need a Kurtwood Smith or Ted Levine type in the role.
It's just some independent etailers trying to make some skrilla.
Official pricing has not been announced.
It may very well be close to those prices, but there's no way to know until Nvidia releases the actual info.
Many sites were charging 500 plus for the 5870, when it's original retail price was 380.
@ssean227, I think you're right on the money. Looking at the existing components of your rig, you obviously don't mind paying extra for the best. Get the GTX 480, & I can't imagine you'd be disappointed.
