Pretty amazing deal actually.
even with having to buy the HDD it's still good
To bad I will never deal with Microsoft Consoles again.
.... talk about shooting yourself in the foot ....
if you implement a antipiracy feature - make sure it works!
personal spaces are just that - invite only.
That means that I don't care what you have in your personal space - I am not going to accidently wander into your private area.
So you can have your porn but it won't be public and even the user created content will be moderated.
"but recognise that moderation and the quality bar are big issues"
also sharing of images and video is not possible in home other then as a streamed event insi...
actually they would have to buy a new player
how many current DVD players have ethernet capability?
how many are firmware upgradeable?
how many have firmware that is upgradeable and has the space for a HDi implementation?
(I would argue just the new consoles....)
actually - the database at an unnamed company that I used to work for is limited to a max of 9 payment types 8 of which can be gift cards (last is reserved for cash or credit to make sure it covers the value of the product)
It's more of a database issue then a "we don't want to take your giftcard" issue. They probably have no desire to redesign their entire database for the 1-2% of people a year that have more then 6 gift cards.
Bad Initial Database design always come...
After reading the article - no where does it say that they won't add it to the PC game pack free. What it does say is that they are looking at their options.
That said - this is an EA company now so it seems logical that pay per expansion may be the case.

Grimm's Fairy Tales by Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm
Fairy Tales are not meant for the faint of heart no matter what Disney has mesmerized people into believing. Most fairy tales are tragic.
Points at things like the "little Mermaid" as a prime example of Disnefication of fairy tales with lessons that have been lost.
Oo
Does he think that websites have the ability to identify their users that well? Verifying users is expensive and requires some sort of offline verification process - even if such a law passed it would not be enforceable to any degree
And what about of out of country bulletin boards - how would the US moderate them?
He is completely out of his mind and should go back to reading his books beside the fire under candle light because obviously that is the er...
and... the thing I really want to see is:
If interplay comes back they have the legal rights to create a Fallout MMO (they are required to have 75Million in financing before 2009 for it or they loss the license)
A Fallout MMO... The only MMO that I would play ^_^

Stupid idea - It's just going to cannibalize sales from the game.
Haze - 500k sold Gamestop 1 million copies sold >_<
Developer gets screwed again.I am totally against selling and buying used games - it just steals from developers who have a hard enough time existing with the costs involved in todays markets.
*wonders when Sony will start tying game serials to consoles.....
@7.1
yeah the 80 gig PS3s no one could find for the last two months.
er - you mean the supposed shortage of X360 (that everyone had in stock)
5/10???
what the hell wonderwallweb smoking....
Easy 8.5/10 for me
Otoh - if they hold 5/10 as average (rather then the more standard 7.5/10 )then it might be close to the correct valuation. I still feel it is better then average and almost absolutely amazing as a XBL game.
Nobody is talking about the fact that the 80 gig PS3 was also nowhere to be found.
Both the PS3 (upper model) and the X360 (upper Model) had supply constraints.
How?
I mean how is it an improvement?
It will fit (2.5" form factor) and the controller works up to over a terrabyte (tested using a SATA extender with a 3.5" terrabyte drive)
Having you account hacked is not something that can happen to anyone.
If you have a decent secure password (min 6 characters(preferably 8 chracters) and mix of numbers and letters not based on dictionary words.) And you are smart enough not to be social engineered - the odds of you being hacked are vanishingly small.
Not kidding, It is something that affects a small percentage of the worlds population - just because it doesn't affect you doesn't mean it doesn't affect others.
(wonders how people can disagree with the idea that someone gets sick from the motion while playing games - points to the disagrees Oo)
the game selection they give is actually a very good selection. Usually they just dump shovelware into sets like this but some of the best X360 games are in the list:
PGR4, Dead Rising, Elder Scrolls 4, Forza 2, Viva Pinata, Halo3
you'd probably buy 80% of them anyway so the savings is pretty impressive. The HDD is worth less then 5 of the games so might as well buy this edition and buy the HDD seperately (painful though it may be)
