EA are just synonymous with the idea of corporate greed now; it's what happens after you win the worst company in America award for two years straight. They just have take a step back and wait for somebody else ,like Ubisoft, to take the spotlight by making more horrible decisions than them.
I remember playing Pokemon Blue on my GameBoy Colour in the back of my parents car, waiting to pass under the lights on the motorway so that I could see the screen. It was the first game I played everywhere I went, all the time: good times.
The show was great too- even when the English dub tried to pass off rice cakes as jelly doughnuts. Bit embarassing...
Magikarp is an inspiration to us all. If something so useless has the potential of becoming a super powerful sea dragon demon thing, then there's hope for us all.
I think people take combat in games for granted because it's so commonplace, and in a lot of games it's such a functional feature that you don't really notice it until it's not doing its job properly . So I mean the former, I guess.
Combat is the quickest means to create conflict, which is needed in anything to create and raise dramatic tension. Having said that, just because it's the quickest means doesn't make it the simplest. You only really appreciate a good combat system after you've been hands-on with a bad one.
I love the look that Cuphead is going for. If the gameplay is as good as its art style then we're in for a treat.
Undertale and Darkest Dungeon are both incredible games and deserve all the recognition that they can get.
Hadn't heard of Armello, but will definitely check it out now
Well Kurt Russell's character in Escape From New York is called Snake, so he's more than just the inspiration for the look.
It sounds like your mums's got the right idea about games, and what she said about Quiet’s photosynthetic skin condition is completely on point.
Retro games are the reminder of the era when gameplay was crucial to the enjoyment of the game, because it was something that the player had to master in order to beat the game. These days, anyone can just pick up a controller and sleepwalk through games like The Order and COD; games that look pretty, but don't deliver anything substantial in the gameplay department.
Nintendo definitely need that third party support, or least start creating some new IPs. Splatoon was a step in the right direction.
If the NX has VR support, then let's hope it's a better attempt from Nintendo than the Virtual Boy.
I think that the problem is that DLC used to be additional levels or missions that would lengthen a game's playtime. Now, anything can qualify as "content" and fetch a price tag. I understand that DLC can cut costs, but it can be pretty exploitative at times.
A really interesting read!
Taking the Undertale approach, eh? That's cool
I've read cereal boxes with a more detailed insight of what they're about than this list. Make an effort to actually make a point about what you're saying next time, rather than just make loads of snide comments
The Arkham Knight PC launch was a huge disappointment. Still, at least Warner Bros took it off Steam and refunded people who preordered the game- unlike what they did with Arkham Origins.
It's always nice when tie-in games live up to the quality of the film rather than act as a quick cash-in on the popularity of the film. I wish there were more good tie-in games these days
Maybe Donald Trump's toupee is an alien mind control device, and he's just a pawn in their game!
The truth is out there *X-files music plays*
Sounds like quite the show! The music for FF and Secret of Mana is brilliant; I imagine that it's even better live.
I think it's funny how the original FF7 pushed the limits of the PS1 by being on severals CD-ROMs, and now the HD remake on PS4 is doing the same by being split into episodes. It's come full circle in a way.
Games have the ability to provide an experience that's rare outside of an interactive medium. A book or a film can tell you what a hyper capitalist society is like and why it's doomed to fail, but a game like Bioshock can actually take you there and see the decay of society. It's much more engaging, especially when games allows to engage with ideas and philosophies.
