Most gamers will attack Dark Souls like an rpg first. Its why they take such issue with enemies disappearing after 10-12 encounters. We r programmed to farm and grow. When our farming capabilities r capped, we will take advantage. This advantage makes the game much easier than DS1. Though many will not admit that they did the same in DS by using farming glitches.
But, it is also true that after beating it, its time to prove ur chops...and DS 1&2 do agreat job of providing...
I have to have at least one console for exclusives. Since xbox usually released on pc, my choice is the PS4.
Also, playing FF14 on the ps4, I find that I really like the controller.
And if I am mistaken, its still in beta.
With this, DCUO, and Final Fantasy 14, I havnt played anything else but DS2 this year.
Gotta play Child of Light...but when?
I think they will nail this one. They simply need to stay away from linearity. Graphics will shine, audio will be dynamite. Hopefully the characters and story are dynamic and memorable.
Oh how I want a really good Final Fantasy single player game. Though FF14 is pretty damn good.
To be honest, I have played only the ps4 since launch (except DS2) and I am buried with things to play. I actually dont know how I can possibly keep up. And I am not kidding!!
Or do both.
Let me see. The Last of us was a critically acclaimed game and GotY. Many ppl didnt play it b/c they dont own a ps3. Now, new consoles have launched and Sony is trying to persuade ppl to invest in a ps4. What better way than to remake possibly the best exclusive from the ps3?
It depends on your definition of winning. But, all in all, ppl with money will often breeze through content, or have an upper hand in some way. Its undeniable.
Proponents after say that items are either also available in game or simply convenience items. Well, in PvE games, if u can skip 100's of hours of grinding, or endlessly replay content to get loop drops, u r winning.
Many will only reference pay to win as occurring in direct PvP environments. But ...
And thats what I like actually.
Thats the only issue I have ever heard about. I love the lightbar. Its cool looking and actually practical. I hav never had an issue b/c I have 2, use standby and rotate.
But, the update is nice. The lowest setting isnt so low that its gone but will help with battery life.
Its a good start. The next big update should start tackling other features that the ps3 already has. All I want is streaming.
But, this is a huge update for those who love to capture video. Also, they should give a discount or include music app with PSN+. It is pretty awesome to b able to listen while playing games. Now, they need an rss or podcast player.
I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Bungie is doing what so many others should have done before. Many like Sony have created mmofps' s like P lanetside etc. But an Mmofpsrpg? Wow! My two favorite genres combined.
Of all the mmos that have released and their respective PvP modes. We will now have a halo-esque PvP inside an mmo. Also instead of auto attacks, we will control the hero completely.
This game could be a game changer...and its ...
Cuz its an mmorpg. They just wont say it. Its actually modeled after DCUO (and many others) it seems. Takes only 2-3 days to level cap at 30. Then its all about your gear level. Seems similar to Destiny. Now, if theres no sub, the content may model DCUO too, offering it as dlc instead of included patches. I guess we will see. Now, I am curious to see just how much end game there is and whether they will cap it in any way.
Destiny does have one advantage. Their PvP can will ...
Thanks for this post. I cant imagine they would completely dumb it down. Maybe they chose to make it more entry friendly. And now u can show ur chops by carrying a team. MOBA is very popular and Blizzard is very smart so I imagine they have good reason to go in this direction...it isnt b/c they r worried ppl abhor complexity. More ppl play MOBA's than any other genre in the world.
I have actually been waiting for someone to really mix it up, like add a sixth player that d...
I always said that of Bioware and Bethesda gpt together and made a game it would be epic. Well, this may be that game.
I am curious to see how CDPR handles the age old open world dichotomy of allowing free exploration while also being in a hurry to save the realm. No one has done ot successfully. Bethesda allows the world to level with u to allow exploration, but imo that seriously handcuffs the rpg experience of leveling. I prefer something more akin to having the ability to...
Often, journalists and especially video game journalists are told to write in a way that reads as if they were speaking or conversing to someone. It is similar to the way that newspapers are written, so that the larger audience can understand and grasp what is being conveyed. I mean, c'mon, when you are trying to sell something, you dont want anything lost in translation, or should I say, comprehension.
I enjoyed this article, this review. It wasnt written that way. And...
I gotta find time for this. Its the first jrpg since ni no mini that I am really excited for. And to think...Ubisoft...wow!!!
Very true. And they arent simply attempting to make a great $50 million game or the best kickstarter game...they are attemting to make one of the best games of its kind...ever!!! In perspective, $50 mil isnt a ton. They will need advertising money.
Or, they could just keep it and fold...lol!
It is so much fun though. U can tackle content well beyond ur level. And for me, I love setting up dots and controlling lets. The dps potential is amazing. And if u want to b a healer, theres always scholar.
I am quite impressed w/ FF14. Also coming off DCUO, which I really enjoyed, I find ARR to be a much richer mmo experience on the console. I am also an arcanist and a summoner and I love the job. With all the talk about ESO, FF is an amazing mmo for a series known mostly for its single player titles.
One of things that worried me at first is the text only, but it takes nothing away from the game. To be honest, how many of us arent listening to music or a podcast while we play ...
It IS an mmo. I can understand why they dont want to be branded as such but mmo players are hardcore and fiercely loyal.
It should, at some point cater to mmo enthusiasts. Yeah, many may play this game and realize that they love the mmo genre, they just want some fps action involved too. But no genre is as immersive or addictive as the mmo genre.
Destiny could be the perfect blend. I also love that console players get the game first.
