They should sneak in the balancing patch as well. The game still sells at a ridiculous price NEW. So they obviously are still trying to reap the benefits from that game. it would only make sense to keep it up to date!!!
Whatever, Black Ops pretty much is not in my cycle of games to play anymore. COD needs servers and a new game engine, among other things. If they don't employ this for the next game, they do not get my money. I'm amazed at the pure greed of Act...
EXACTLY!! I really wish they would put in a more detailed stats board at the end of matches (esp. Warzone) to show how each person did per mode.
I could really care less about K/D. There have been plenty of rounds where I got many of the objectives but had like a 24-38 K/D and my team went 7 - 0!! Plus you'll level up much faster actually going for objectives. But I suppose everyone wants to play like its COD, NOT THIS GUY!!
I'm officially done with COD after black ops unless they update the game engine and give us servers. The only reason I've ever bought COD is to play with my friends, now that I've gotten some of my friends to play and get addicted to the battlefield series, I fully expect to be spending loads of time with Battlefield 3 and quite possibly with both the console and pc versions. Also, this year is full of FPS games so I'm certain some of those may take some of my time as well. ...
I think Uncharted 2 showed that there are some unique ways to use the cell processors. It is really all about the engine being optimized, plus it depends on the gameplay as well (i.e. Scale). I think the PS3 still has some power left but it is not as if it will be all that noticeable. The art style will be the defining difference in the latter stages of both the 360 and PS3. Anyhow, I have a feeling that Sony will make some upgraded PS3 that will add more efficiencies and power and compat...
I think Gabe has some valid points. I think each multiplayer game should have a bit more detailed report submittal form (in-game, not console based) and if a player receives a certain amount of reports then he should receive some type of warning that details what the warning is for and/or with video evidence. If he does it more he will get put into a separate server or get a temporary ban.
Online Multiplayer games can be governed how ever the company wants, especially if it...
Yes, you have a choice of spawning in BC2 and is much better than what other games offer, for the most part. But in modes like Squad Deathmatch the spawning system is horrible, and BC2 would be so much less enjoyable without Squad Deathmatch. I'm amazed at how many times people spawn next to me or I spawn next to someone
Also, Conquest mode can be the biggest spawn camping mode ever!! On some maps that is the only objective for squads, thus the entire other team quits....
Jesus, if people want great graphics then go buy some guns and go to a shooting range. Who cares. We've reached a point where graphics are not holding back gameplay much at all and many of the enhancements to graphics these days are not even noticeable. Does anyone live outside of their living room TV's or open the windows once in a while........you get full infinity HD if you just looked outside for once.
Studios close for various reasons. I'm pretty sure the majority of closures are due to poor fianancial and market strategies when it comes to developing a game and/or franchise. Then it is probably just due to a horrible or flawed or poorly marketed or boring game.
Its about adjusting to the market and minimizing the risks as well as being financially sound
I don't understand these leaks anyhow. If a company can't keep control of its own IP'...
I understand what you are trying to say using Wal-Mart as an analogy but that is horrible. Wal-Mart is one of the worst companies in the world. They literally steal from their employees and their customers and the communities they land in. Anyhow, that is neither here nor there
Horrible list!!
COD could use a better engine and have a server based online multiplayer for the first year or so (without charging). This is just for barebones starters!!
COD will become irrelevant pretty soon or else they will eat their own words and it will become the way of Guitar Hero. There are a plethora of FPS games that are coming out this year which are all innovating on almost every level.
They are not lagless but server based, thus reducing the latency. It is just not as prevalent, or noticeable, as host-based games such as COD, where it can change at any second. I'm a BC2 fanboy by the way.
Sony will release a PS4, I just hope it is around 2015 or so. I think the PS3 still has alot left in its tank. Only a few developers are really maximizing it so far.
I think they should focus on the NGP. I'm finally excited about a handheld and unless you've been asleep for the past 2 years gaming has been heavily adopted by handheld devices, i.e. cellphones.
If Sony could find a way to use the power of connecting 2 PS3s together, that could at lea...
Fox News, CNN and the rest of the Mainstream Media have been feeding the USA a bag full of crap.
The most militaristic country in the world has its news sites banging on video games being the reason why violence is so prevalent in society. Maybe if we didn't go to war illegally every 10 years we would create a relatively more peaceful society.
Last I checked there are many many more violent movies on Netflix to watch than videogames.
@blumatt.....because in many cases we cause hunger, strife and other issues around the world through our militaristic, political, corporate and banking ways, as well as our entanglements with other governments. Americans (I am one) are mostly blind to the rest of the world. It is very easy for people to hate on America.
I find very little wrong with BC2, it is such a breath of fresh air in the FPS genre. I still don't understand why people always need need maps. The VIP map packs were nice, although odd in how they approached it. I think it turned out fine and Vietnam was icing on the cake.
If they want to grab more fans they need to look at some of the modes and things COD does in terms of the extras because the gameplay in Battlefield games are spot on, especially BC2. I play BC2 f...
Open Beta is nice, still annoyed that I was a PS+ member and never got a closed Beta key, but whatever. I have enjoyed the Open Beta but I'm not a big fan of the map. Game is silky smooth and controls are good. Looking forward to it and hopefully they can get everything patched up with the beta so when the retail releases it'll be close to perfect
@darkride66....LOL at free health care, your delusional. Nothing is ever free. The costs are made up somewhere and someone has to pay it.
Ahhh....a breath of fresh air!!! ZIIING!
Your use of a Microsoft product is bad use for analogy sake. Microsoft has been a horrible company. Surely If I buy a copy of MS Office, I can give it to my buddy, if I so choose. As long as I don't charge for it. You can take the argument that it is intellectual property but books are also considered intellectual property and they can be resold without any issues whatsoever. I don't see how MS Office or anything else is really that much different.
You just have ...
I've bought the last Battlefield games on Xbox (and before on PC, obviously) but If the Frostbite 2 engine can use the PS3 more efficiently, then i'll be buying the PS3 version and telling my buddies that I've got the PS3 version so they better go buy a PS3 or become my Frenemy. Nothing against the Xbox, but its quite obvious that if a companies engine can optimize multithreading across the various SPU's then the PS3 should be better in some way.
