I love how everyone is overreacting to this even though more than half the games people own this gen have some form of post launch DLC, MT's or lootboxes and in some cases more than one of these.
If you don't like MT's... don't buy them. I'm sure you'll have just as much fun without the zebra print weapon skin for $.99
Did people really think they we're going to get rid of lootboxes? Battlefield has had lootboxes or battlepacks since 4...
Well depending on compression techniques and the engine used for the game. Some larger games still come in fairly decently low sized files.

I guess to each his own. I play my Xbox more than any of my other consoles. I go back and forth between PUBG, Gears 4, Halo 5 for my online games mostly. But i will admit that I stuck with Xbox being my main 3rd party system (even when it was the weaker hardware) because Xbox is where most of my friends and family are.
I can't express enough how much I love VR and my PSVR.
Was never interested in the Yakuza games, but a good friends of mines who's opinion I trust loves the game. So I think I'm going to give this one a go.
But it is much much MUCH better than Destiny haha
"The truth is no matter how good the game is, the expectations are so high that it's impossible to meet them."
So true, with statements like "Can Sea of Thieves save MS?" how can it possibly live up to that? People are already putting an unfair view on the game.
Poor content?
People say they want Xbox to branch out, but then condemn them when they do. It's the unfortunate situation MS has found themselves in this gen.
Watching it doesn't really do it justice personally.
The problem is Sunset Overdrive tried to get a lot of hype, but nobody was hearing it at the time because MS was still in the doghouse for the botched Xbox One launch...
"In his mind the game itself will turn out to be a Microsoft Blunder but can't peg down any real reasoning from the game itself."
The real reasoning is bias.
It's not the best game to watch unless you're watching a fun group. It is so much more fun to actually play.
As an Xbox gamer this game does appeal to me a lot I think Microsoft really stepped up with Rare for this game and let them do something unique and now you hear about them once every 2-3 days.
1. Gamepass is optional, a lot of people prefer to own their games vs. renting them per month.
2. If the massive twitter/mixer/youtube following shows anything is that there is a lot of interest in this game and there were over 300k players in the closed beta. I think that shows plenty of interest.
Pretty pathetic that they didn't have a more strict algorithm to catch words they don't like. It got approved FOR 8 YEARS!
Plus stop deflecting and acting like this isn't Sony's fault for not having an online system that allows name changes haha I mean really?
Pretty pathetic by Sony really. The fact they won't even let him change it is terrible. How do you set up an online infrastructure that doesn't allow simple name changes?
It's gotta be at least better than far cry 4...
