Mate you can't just assume you know what these studios are doing or how many teams they have got or how long they have been working on yet to be revealed games.
What metric are you using to guess their release schedule? Just that every game takes 3/4 years?
A quick look at wiki will show you, just for example, that insomniac have never gone more than 2 years without releasing a game.
So you would pretty much need inside info, or said time machine...
Cheers for reply mate. I understand its nice to have it, but I personally am not bothered by it. Id still get a ps5 if it had zero bc. Just knowing what sonys studios will deliver is enough for me. Fuck, I'd even buy one if they only released the Gow sequel.

Games like hzd, bloodborne and other highly rated games that on paper I should love, I just haven't clicked with and I don't know why. Even after multiple tries.

I never used to buy anything digital mate, but I've started to a lot now, simply for the convenience.
I buy all sonys exclusives digital and special or collectors editions tho, and a select few 3rd party games both aswel. Mrs thinks I'm mad!
But yea they need to sort it out its really antiquated and anticonsumer.
Steams 2hr thing is the way to go I think. Even if someone bought a game played it for an hour, didn't like it, they'd just buy another g...

I think it's no longer free because sony are a business and they want to make money.
They saw a competitor charging for online play and thought, we can do that too.
Its probably that simple.
I don't know mate, I've bought lots of shit games I didn't like and are sat at 0% trophies. Never asked for a refund on any of them.
I have asked for refunds on 3 games that either kept freezing or crashed my ps4. And they really do fuck you about to get it. I gave up and couldn't be bothered the 3rd time.
I think they really should review their policy on this. Something like steam policy where if you've played less than 2hrs you can get a refund.
Sonys customer service and refund policy is absolute dogshit.
I remember buying a game called apotheon. Contacted them for a refund because the game kept freezing and crashing my ps4. The people on the phone are clueless. “have you tried deleting and reinstalling? Was the extent of their advice.
In the end they wanted me to take photos on my phone of the screen when it had crashed and send it to them and to try wiping my HD with loads of games on to play a 10quid ...

I get what you're saying mate, but for me I'm buying the new console to play new games, yes it would be nice if all my old games were playable on it, but if I wanted to play all those games again, I wouldn't bother getting a new system, I'd just stick with what I've got.
As for the ecosystem, I'd say ps fans are sticking with ps because they like the games on there, same for xbox fans. Knowing sequels to games you liked are coming is enough to stick with them...

I have never bought any console based on whether it can play my games from a previous console.
If Sony came our and said the ps5 would have no bc at all then it wouldn't bother me one little bit, and I don't think it would bother the average consumer too.

Yes and dreams also recently released on ps4, so it might mean its coming to xbox.
Also dreams is the title of a song by the cranberries, so it might mean Microsoft are releasing a cranberry drink.
I don't think cross gen games are a nono for Sony gamers. I think what would be a problem is if the ps5 released with 0 exclusive games.
