Yeah. Microsoft are panicking and announcing self publishing as a "Me too!" out of sheer desperation, but already developers are seeing through the smoke and mirrors and that Microsoft's self publishing solution is still grossly inferior to what Sony and other companies are offering to developers.
As Brian and other developers have pointed out, Microsoft are just renaming their XBLIG service (which was terrible to begin with), forcing developers to use Windows 8...
A quick look at the online playerbase for Halo 4 contradicts any claims of it being one of the world's biggest videogame franchises. Maybe they can claw back some fans with Halo 5, though?
Wow, low standards :)
Sony has always allowed it. Microsoft is just playing catch-up yet again, is all.
Case in point, Unreal Tournament 3. The PS3 version of the game allowed all the mods from the PC version to be copied over and played. The Xbox 360 version didn't allow mods though, Microsoft blocked them.
I'm just shocked that Capcom is still intent on killing off every single one of their franchises by westernizing them to the point where they're nearly unrecognizable.
Devil May Cry was the last game to suffer that fate and flop as a result, and now it looks like Capcom is going to butcher the Dead Rising franchise with this.
They've been using drivatars in Forza since the first game back in 2005. It's funny that Turn 10 have people convinced it's a new and revolutionary feature though.
That combined with their cloud talk is actually kinda fascinating, since you wouldn't think people were dumb enough to succumb to their efforts at hyping them, but here we are :)
lol indeed. It's utterly hilarious whenever the clueless little kiddies get swept up in all the marketing nonsense about the cloud.
I'll give credit to Microsoft though, they know how to excite the dummies!
The main things that turn me off the Xbox One are that it's much weaker than the PS4 so multiplat games will be worse and the gap will only widen throughout the generation, combined with being $100 more, having mandatory Kinect and inferior exclusives that will also become less common throughout the lifespan of the console (just like the original Xbox and Xbox 360).
Combine that with all the other nonsense normally associated with Microsoft such as adverts everywhere, a t...
Yeah, I've no idea what's happening at their studio but the quality of their output has completely nosedived the past few years.
It would be great if they released a 1080p 60fps version of the game with all the DLC included for next gen consoles.
I'm looking forward to playing TitanFall on PS4 :)
Any business that needs to video conference will just use Skype on the computers that they already own and use daily.
It's hilarious that Microsoft thinks businesses around the world will suddenly trash all of their office equipment to buy Xbox One's and TVs to use instead.
This is their way of blocking used games after doing the DRM reversal. Buy the game used? Sorry, no DLC code to download the cars and tracks that are needed to complete career mode!
Hilarious. Watch the Xbox dummies bend over and take it, too. Can't wait to see the tears and whining once they realize Microsoft is still trying to screw them any way that they can :D
You seem to have a thing for boys and bums.
What Turn 10 said about Forza 5 not working unless you go online and redeem the DLC codes, is basically their way of blocking used game sales.
For anyone curious, IGN posted an article where Dan Greenawalt talked about it.
Drivatars have been a part of the Forza franchise since the original game back in 2005. It's funny that people honestly think that they're a new feature.
It's funny to see that a game so heavily advertised as making heavy use of "the infinite power of the cloud" is fully playable offline.
Utterly hilarious to see all the nonsense that Microsoft were spewing is now being revealed to be merely lies and deception.
Still, good news for Xbox One owners who don't want to rely on their internet connection just to play a video game. This is a win for them, even if it reveals just how much Microsoft h...
I agree, it really sucks to get good games for free :(
Bear in mind that their source for this information is an old interview where Kazunori actually elaborated to only say that they were considering it.
GT6 on PS4 is not official, at all, this site is just regurgitating an old "Maybe" to seek hits.
Would GT6 on PS4 be awesome? Definitely, but don't get excited for something that might not happen. There's still a chance that after releasing GT6 on PS3, Polyphony Digital could jump right into GT...
It's funny seeing how many people are being blinded by Microsoft's PR machine, and now think that they'll be able to download a free update for their Xbox One to turn it into a dev kit and start making games.
Here's a hint: that's not going to happen. For a start, you'll need your own tools to develop games on a PC (that's running Windows 8). All Microsoft are doing is releasing a small update enabling developers to test their software on a retail ...
