Sure the ps3 could do tessellation..."BUT" it would be a software based tessellation as its not built into the hardware like it is in the X360....You know what that means...it means that although it could do it..it won't do it nearly as well as the X360 just like it "CAN'T" do FSAA as good as the X360 leaving it's developers to force implement MSAA to get rid of jaggies... IE less efficient and less effective...results are not what I would call a good outcome. ...
Well you are right in that X360 had hardware support for "TESSELLATION" from the beginning... but the key to why the X360 was so easy to program for and the reason it seamed to plateau was that the directx 10+ that x360 was built on locked out many of the systems actual hardware features...the developers that created forced unleashed revealed that many of the things that had to be hard coded on the ps3 and could be done on the X360 were locked out to them because of the need to go t...
The article is a fake DID you all even look at those numbers their not the official numbers from MS or Sony , their not the NPD numbers and Their not even Vchartz numbers, where they came from I don't know but we all know Sony didn't sell 24 million units in 2010 their own numbers say somewhere around 13 million and MS didn't sell 19 million units either in 2010 and those are not lifetime numbers we know those are 50.9 mil x360' and 47.9 mil ps3. So where did they get these...
I like the big screen
I like that it has a touch screen
I like the higher resolution
I love the two analog sticks
I like the 3g capability
I'm not sure about the rear touchpad how is that comfortable?
I'm curious about the battery they pulled this last time making us wait to know the real deal.
Who is the 3g going to come through because if its AT&T then its useless.
AND HOW MUCH is it gonna cost....and if th...
I remember when the original psp came out and it was super powerful, could do all this media stuff like play movies, music, skype and all other manner of stuff...the first thing they did with it was turned it into a mini ps2 port machine, it was terrible... no matter how good those games looked they played horrible on a handheld..I hope that they don't do it again because as of right now this all seems eerily familiar, and standing in line to get a machine only to watch its support dry up...
GOOD GOD PEOPLE...TAKE A BUSINESSE CLASS OR SOMETHING. Please stop acting like your wishes, hopes, dreams, and opinions are facts they are not and facts are easily proven. Sony DOES NOT RECORD SOLD THROUGH TO YOU they can not do that. They have no idea how many units gamestop, walmart, or best buy are warehousing or have in stores period. You are not sony's direct customer...They are a manufacturer and they sell wholesale to retailers who in turn sell to you. Recorded sales simply me...
I agree, I think the biggest problem with the x360 is M$ limiting the # of disks a developer can use to 2 before charging huge surcharges, if FF13 had been on 5 disc then it could have run at the same resolution and looked better. Games like AW could have used hi-res textures instead of the lo-res mess that hobbled them...bottome line we're stuck with DVD-9 so you could atleast let the developers use as many disc as they need to make a great looking games and ending the lo-res textures. ...
Look I agree with you some what, but those game in parts were excellent. Like Alaa Wake has the best lighting engine this Gen has yet on any platdform, Halo Reach has more going on in the background than any other FPS this Gen, oh and bye background I mean the ability to record anything at anytime from any angle which makes you render the entire world at all times (" This is the opposite of KZ and it's defered rendering tech") and the game runs at 60 fps not 30, But in agreein...
I'm sorry that you've exopsed yourself I really do mean that. However, we all get get tired of these one sided microsoft is dying because apple and google are doing good articles. You, Mr. Mcdougall could have atleast hidden you blatant favortism bye pointing out that in the last 12 months Microsoft has bought 2 tech companies responsible for motion and gesture controll something that is so far ahead of its competitors its not even on thier radar. You, Mr. Mcdougall could have even...
Please don't use sales as the only factor as to which games we should get on x360 M$ has done enough of that already...My only point is that if they put as much money into games "LIKE" enslaved then we all benifit.
It was the most technically advanced light engine on the x360 or the ps3 and still is... The reason it suffered in other areas like texture resolution and other stuff is because they neede to use multiple DVD's for cut scene's like UC does and to reduce compression artifacting, but the did'nt and only use 4 like they should have.
So I wonder how much Halo cost to develop, what about fable, forza, the money the have given to third parties to assist in development, i.e. gta, mgs, Lost Odessy, Blue Dragon, ....just because M$ believes in marketing its francises does not mean it doesn't spend money on development.
Alan Wake is an example of one of the best lighting engines on either platform, but no as a whole it is Not superior to uncharted graphically nor is it the same type of game...
The truth is that they already have this..."ENSLAVED" Now before I get super attacked Enslaved is a great cinimatic story driven game of the same "TYPE" as Uncharted. If I was M$ I would buy the developer and then make all new give them the money the need to make the sequel even better and exclusive...They frst already looks better graphiclly than 95% of the x360 games and if its made exclusive can only look better...and play better.
I agree, now for the rest of you...
If you have Dish network and there dvr it's powered by M$, own a new ford with sync tech thats powered bye M$, use a blu-ray player the av1 codec used for video is powered by M$, and for every failure of M$ to enter a new market ala Zune & Bing they tend to hand around making new interation after interation until they get it right...
Look for those of you that don't understand what a market cap is or share holder value...Sony "CAN" be bought and afforded by Apple or Microsoft, and I don't mean just a division I mean to whole company all divisions... Some of you non-busines class taking folks can use google but have no idea how to "INTERPERATE" the data. So let me give you a couple examples of how a smaller company can buy a larger one...Time/warner not the 5th largets it is "THE 2nd"...
Maybe they took a different route. Those of you that weren't around for the original xbox forget that it never got any of the now great multiplatform games, and if we did it was years later. There were no FF, MGS, Tekken, DMC, or GTA's released along side the PS version So this gen they took there top 5 exclusives and ran with those while gaining all those multiplats i.e. Halo, viva pinata, Gears, Forza, and Fable. And who knows maybe we'll see another conkur, kameo, and perfe...
Look this article is silly in it's obvious attempt to drum up support for PS Move. I can take Move and Kinect seriously but this guy flat out lies and attempts to mis-inform. Kinect will "NOT" be $199 it will be $149. Every report released suggests that not only will Kinect meet the 4-5 million goal set bye M$ but beat it. It is the #4 most wanted toy by 8-16 year olds and move doesn't even place on the list. Who hear thinks that beaing premiered on Oprah will make you ...
Your right it will be interesting....Lots of so called web reviewers are nothing but fanboys for one system or ther other, But there are a couple of reviewers that I do respect because they are gamers and not fanboys people like Jeff Gershman on Giantbomb.com or Adam Sesler from X-play.
OK STOP!!!! ALL people judging this games graphics bye the demo shut up! Crytek, IGN, CVG, and Gamespot have already said the demo code was not final code... Now if you really want to see what it looks like you must actually play the "REAL" game code... and bye the way it does look way better than the demo... and it looks better than any other game released on the X360... looks better than KZ2 & Uncharted 1... and is in the same category of graphical fidelity of Uncharted 2 and...
