The game was deliberately delayed 4 weeks to put it's release into the next financial year, Square must have done well this year and want to spread out the revenue as next gen might be costly to develop for with low user base.

Another reason on why E3 is becoming irrelevant to the gaming public like last year Cyberpunk gameplay shown behind closed doors, not much gameplay shown for other titles too many cgi trailers and finally Avengers could have owned the event but made a mess of their presentation, is it mmo, single player, online only? Etc..
The fact there still talking about Sony is probably a no to the question. Sony could announce their hosting a special reveal next Thursday in NYC and the whole media gaming to mainstream would be kicking in the doors to get access to the event.

What we know is there flat out trying to get Cyberpunk completed on time so I wouldn't expect a Wither game anytime soon, if they however make a new one I'd like to see you play as a new Wither in somewhere like Kovir.
Its guaranteed to be cross gen, why? because CD Project Red are a commercial company that need to maximize as much sales as possible as I imagine Cyberpunk is the most expensive game they have ever done.
It's really annoying especially when you pre-book or plan to take a days holiday when it releases. When a game is delayed by 6 months the developers surely knew well in advance that the announced date was false from the beginning.
Just hope there is some safe areas as just to catch your breath and restock your character. You don't want to be constantly under the pump with that 7 foot behemoth constantly at your heels.

I'd say Capcom and Square enix are delighted as RE3 and FF7 are given a free run in April and don't have to compete with Cyberpunk which is arguably the most hyped game of 2020.
Risky by Sony as a new IP up against those heavyweights and one with serious name recognition. This gen Sony has smartly released its exclusives in windows avoiding big heavy hitters.
Just hope they can at least give us more gameplay footage especially at E3 as this behind the scenes to reporters only crap is annoying.

I don't think it will take that long as SSM stated the GOW new engine took time but now that its up and running the development cycle GOW sequel should be smoother.
That supposedly extra 3 TF will mean nothing if the game has to be designed to the weakest console which is Xbox one, Microsoft exclusives will be undermined, sure they can be scaled up to look pretty but what about open world games are games with larger set pieces where they can't utilize it for better AI , physics and take advantage of the SSD drives. So you would be happy with the next gen GTA, Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age etc being scaled and developed for base PS4 and Xbox one knowing full well that developers could not take full advantage of next gen hardware with SSD drives and 4 times the cpu/graphical power?

Had fun playing this back in the day, loved the physics. It's got me thinking of other games during my youth that I would live see make a comeback: State of Emergency, Freedom Fighters, Future Cop LAPD, Half Life (proper), KOTOR etc
