Stupid question, off course they will be held back and anybody who thinks otherwise is stupid. Think about it, base Xbox one with Jaguar cpu cores, hdd and DDR3 RAM. Its not just graphics even to argue with scaling is silly, think about physics, npc's, level design, AI, charcters on screen at once etc.

Seriously If you want to use cars to consoles analogy here's one for you: Series X is a big American muscle car, it's got the brute force high horsepower and torque, PS5 is a Nissan GTR not as high horsepower but quicker acceleration, lighter more efficient and can actually take a corner.

I had tempered my expectations and was right, its really just a quick cash grab from Crytek who if get enough sakes might attract investment for another game or sequel etc.
I should be hyped about this game but I'm not, just something about it like Anthem and ME: Andromeda that had me doubtful. Maybe in a years time on next gen with all the updates and DLC's it could be good. This game should have mega hype around it given its The Avengers but more gamers from my end are looking forward to AC Valhalla and Cyberpunk.

Overall that EA event was utter crap, as for SW Squadrons, all I see are features designed for MT's and loot boxes. Why no third person view?
The Ascent is hardly a big demanding game, in fact 4k 60fps for a 12 teraflop console for an arcade shooter would be standard. It's like ray tracing argument people use with Minecraft, well of course they can use it and maintain high fps as there's not much happening in the game demand wise. Let's see how they handle proper AAA high performance open world games like Assassins creed, Elder Scrolls etc..
Not surprised but at least we still get to play it this Christmas, the skeptic in me also thinks it was deliberately delayed to launch alongside next gen consoles. Square Enix I'd say are delighted as their Avengers game has a full free run in September now.
@RomanPSX Xbox One wasn't that under powered compared to PS4, it was rightfully mocked for:
Being more expensive
Forced always online
Kinect standard with every console increasing cost
And its reveal was terrible, purely just aimed at American market and trying to be some kind of multimedia device rather than a gaming console.
Little bit concerned for this game as it was originally meant to release last month and we still haven't seen a whole pile of footage about it. Similar to Mass Effect Andromeda. My concerns are first of all Kamala Khan, a hero nobody asked for, cheap and cheerful 8-12 hour story where the main focus of the game will be on rip off future dlc, MT's and added on multiplayer.
Another average knock off game nobody asked for.
