Not worth the upgrade especially when AMD is supposed to be launching new chipsets soon.
"1000$ for One part of the PC.
3000$ for NVIDIA 12Gb GDDR5 for the GPU."
I guess if you want to be an early adopter.
I don't need this CPU. I use a i7-4930K which will give me at least four years minimum.
Also GPU wise I use a GTX 770 which is not expensive but want to upgrade to a GTX 880 when one is launched with 16 GB GDDR5 ram.
I guess you can say I'm an early adopter but I want to game at 4K soon...
Simply converting prices doesn't tell you if something is expensive or cheap in other countries. You would have to know more information such as cost of living and average wages.
Example is the difference in living in the Northeast of America, the south of America and Hawaii. Where more or less money is spend on living and food and subsequently less on luxuries. $640 and $783 seems like a lot more only relative to prices that we know as high.
To me it's the N64 without a doubt.
Wait for that 880. That's what I'm waiting for.
$640 and $783.
You have to push technology forward before you talk about using more than four cores. Also this type of beast isn't just for gaming.
DRM on PC is silly like the article stated. People who are going to pirate games will do so anyway but don't punish people who support you with such foolishness. Of course some DRM is always needed but don't go full stupid.
If someone is starting off I would recommend GTX 750 Ti it's a really good cheap GPU.
If you are going to play PC why even bother with such a cheap and weak build. You can make a good build that will play most games 1080p on medium setting for $599.
PC is about a high upfront cost but you save so much on software.
If you are comparing games from generation four to now you can easily see a huge jump in campaign size as well as scope.
Stop buying games with short campaigns.
They already came into this generation underpowered. This isn't 2005/2006 when the consoles were almost on par with the best PCs. The days consoles are cutting edge is over.
You think we are getting less content in games then we used to? Really? I mean I don't know what games you are playing.
The foolishness that will ensue on this post...
There is many games PC players play that will never come to consoles. Nothing new.
Technically this isn't a fact because the end of 2014 hasn't happened yet. Estimates aren't fact. I could care less who sells less or more but just thought I point that out.
@InTheLab
Isn't that how PS4 gamers act to Xbox One gamers? Like they are some king with some beast of a console and make them feel inferior?
I mean this PC "elitist" thing isn't exclusive to PC gamers.
Also Wii U having a good resurgence at the moment. Console gaming is alive and well.
Why are PC gamers "elitist"
Not the biggest fan of AMD really. I think their driver support leaves a lot to be desired yet they have been getting better in that respect and also I think NVidia has features I would use more such as PC streaming and Shadowplay when I want to do Twitch.
Now I'm not saying people shouldn't use AMD. You should if you on a budget but if not I would recommend going GTX all the way especially with Maxwell coming.
