Funny thing is nobody talks about Portal 2 using an outdated engine or about 70% of games running on an old engine. The outdated game engine is irrelevant seeing as there is only about 3 game engines that can run DX11 or OpenGL 4.1 native.
PC guys will be the point out games like CCS or TF2 and in those cases graphics don't matter; yet will point out the graphic limits of CoD...
But I guess apparently 25 Million people love shitty outdated game engines. ...
Actually what sells MW3 is flawless fun gameplay. Period..
MW3 won't win a beauty contest but it has shown and other games as well that you don't have to in order to be successful.
Fast, quick gun on gun action with fun co-op modes and a good campaign. That's why CoD is a Juggernaut.

I'm not saying anything new many publishers have said this such as the CEO of Activision who stated it's a great piece but has no market.

I hate this paradox that people swear PS3 can hang in there for about 2-3 more years but Xbox needs a change immediate. Sorry to inform people but Xbox is doing better than PS3 so what makes you think if NeXtbox can come out in 2012 PS4 can just come in 2014.

Sony is a great hardware company but fails at software!!
It's technically great but about 2-3 years too late to the party for a dedicated handheld device.
I give it around three years life span until it becomes an undesired platform to develop for.
People fail to realize that gamers care about fun.. New engine doesn't really matter sadly. People who love CoD are those who enjoy gameplay and fast fun not how many pixels it can handle... But I'm sure if people understand that having a new engine doesn't make a game. But of course they will talk about how good BF3 will look (only on PC) and sadly that will will sell the least on the platform..

This is why MW3 will be the game!! Fast gameplay and action and fun. Who truly cares if it doesn't look like BF3. That survival mode will have me locked for hours!!!

I've been saying for quite some time on this site that mobile chips will surpass the console market. Even if Sony and Microsoft mad a successor is would still be a missing link because it wouldn't be that much of a leap due to it has to be affordable.
I see the future being based on OnLive or a service more similar because gamers are entirely too overpriced and you don't have to worry about how powerful a console is or having to go to a new one...
