If they can utilize the voice command and non game applications for Kinect then I see it a success as such games like Madden 13 which only enhances the game or Mass Effect 3.
Kinect 2.0 is like ice cream it can be good in moderation and in times of desire but over saturation isn't a good things and leads to problems.
I see it pushing more sales in the beginning and then leveling off at some time and it won't sell as the PS2 did because of how the console market has changed this generation but that isn't means for worry.
It helps the last presumable holiday rush until the PS4 comes out and gives them a product they can sell alongside PS4. For it to be a "game changer" it would need to be a PS4.

Apple isn't going to get into the traditional console business because that isn't good business for them and would take unnecessary resources for them. Apple has assured us that it isn't for them to release something that competes directly with consoles.

Gabe seems to be the attacking a product not yet released on sale. Well the problem is, every year since 94 is the year for Linux yet they don’t make any impact and in the consumer market, adoption has been dismal. Does your average consumer even know an OS called Linux exist? People want Windows and Office. Other OS in the pc market just struggle against Windows. Even should Windows 8 fail, most people will just switch back to Win7.

It won't I got a chance to play it at E3 and you will be highly surprised at the big changes in this game. At least try the demo when it comes out and you can make your own judgement.

The mulit-media devices that so happens to also play games is alive and well.
It's hard to find any piece of technology know that is dedicated to only one specific function.
While the game doesn't have competition in it's genre it does face the competition of limited money and this holiday season I can only buy a certain amount of games so which ones do I choose.
Since this game is basically the start of the gaming season along with Darksiders 2 it shouldn't be hard to sell.
