There is only two to increase sales at a good rate.
1. Marketing
2. Lower the price to $199 with an included memory card.
Sure games could be it to yet I think that releasing better games doesn't necessarily increase the sales of a console if it is still the same initial price.
Case and point PS3. The PS3 didn't rise due to an increase of software which could be some of the reason but cutting the price had a huge impac...
MSFT said that they were gonna monetize the point system which means real money values which is a good thing to do in my opinion or make the points equal the total amount.
I feel like in a few years all Microsoft brands will fall under either:
-Xbox
-Windows
-Office
Please just stop you aren't making sense.
You prefer new IPs yet have never played Halo therefore how do you prefer anything over something you never tried.
"Bungie understood they stepped down but MS still wants more $$ thanks to the blind fans who buy because of the name"
Well Bungie left so they can go multiplatform with Activision so in that respect aren't they chasing money?
Oh no. Microsoft wa...
In some cases I think there is just plain robbery of some gaming ideas.
On the other hand that is what innovation is. You take an idea and you improve upon the idea and you get a new product.
It's very hard to judge between the two though.
Halo is the most innovative console first person shooter since Golden Eye. It has one of the biggest fan bases so it just seems standard that next generation Halo will be a huge player.
If you honestly think that 2k can compete with Madden on football in one year that is kinda crazy.
2k makes one good sports franchise that has its own issues as well such as speed and limited animations. 2K isn't the standard for sporting games if anything Fifa is.
You aren't funny as if you look at Black Ops 1 and then this if you can say besides graphics do they look the same then that is simply crazy.
PS4 should come out 2013 and it's as simple as that. If you let a more potent Microsoft get a year start you won't do yourself any favors. I really doubt MSFT will have the same issues therefore a reliable next generation XBOX with a year is dangerous.
Also PS3 came out last yet it is arguably the best system but it is very comparable therefore to consumers a minor slight improvement is not worth a wait for comparable hardware.
I'll get all system...
HOLY CRAP.
I am now more excited for this than Halo 4 at the moment.
I can't. I want it. I want it bad!!!
How would you possibly access that from not actually playing the game? A small demo?
Windows 8 is good for indie developers as it is more accessible to have their games scene and played on the Windows Store. I find this to actually be a good things and possibly bad for the big name guys which doesn't make sense as they still can have their desktop applications there.
I see people very upset with how the start menu and screen look but let's be honest here you sepnd about 2% of your time there and the other in actually a browser or an appilcation.

I can't wait for Black Ops 2.
I have a week to play deep into Halo 4 before it releases and I believe this will be the most innovative FPS since Halo came into the scene. That is very high expectations but it is just a hunch.
I haven't put so much hours into CoD since MW2 and I'm hoping I can get my multiplayer fix from this game.
What a month... Medal of Honor into Halo into Black Ops
There is no possible argument for this being a bad thing.
-Largest Hard Drive
-Awesome Xbox 360 looks
-2 custom controllers
-And the game
It is just options and my opinion is there is nothing wrong with options.
Well isn't all forms of media turning into a service from music, movies, books, etc.
As we move towards more digital is just makes sense to move it into a package and move away from the standard model. This doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing.
Well Steam, GameFly, Origin, BF Premium, CoD Elite, etc are all services.
Games are the primary function of these machines anymore. And making a video game centric machine in 2013-2014 seems like an unintelligent mood and they are going to be all in one media devices that so happen to play games.
I doubt Sony picks Linux or Chrome OS actually and use their own in house UI.
Talk about damage control much. Where was all of this understanding when Dante's Inferno came out?
The game will still be good but you don't have to keep justifying it. There is room for both games as they are exclusives to each platform. I never understood why gamers fought the point that there can only be one good game per genre.
Arkham Asylum I think took the entire industry by storm by giving us a Batman game in which it was really good and unexpected.
City did improve upon the formula but Asylum storyline and atmosphere was so good that I edge it to Asylum. When you have such a great game it is hard for a successor to wow us in the same way.
When will society learn to take responsibility for their own actions instead of always pushing the blame.
Games don't hurt people, people hurt people and the sooner we start to take responsibility the better off we will be.
"In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility."
~Eleanor Roosevelt
You can't give me one concrete argument on why Windows 8 is bad for PC gaming. As it is the same fundamentally and the start menu is different.
The only threat is for ARM devices as Microsoft has it's own store but no way is that a threat to gaming.
