This is probably real. And unfortunately, the game (graphics wise) isn't exactly pretty.
Hopefully the PS3 version will look better. All those BF3 promotions based almost exclusively on PC footage might backfire on DICE now.
I agree, it's a patchfest all around.
For me, the biggest advantage of consoles is unified player base. All system are identical when it comes to hardware power, and all owners are equals.
PCs are a game of money. If you have more, you will have better, prettier and more fluid experience. If you have less, you will have ugly graphics, low resolution and loads of stuttering.
Well I hope it remains free. I don't wanna pay 50-60$ for online play and then additional 50$ for some type of premium service like COD Elite (like X360 owners do).
It's just too much, so keep online play free Sony!
Classic microsoft move. Probably 50% of X360 sales come from bans and broken hardware.

You honestly expect for BF3 on consoles to look like caspian border? LOL, you are delusional. It won't even look like that on all PCs, but only on most expensive ones. And how many players that will buy BF3 have those? 1%? 2%?

This is perfectly normal for PS3. When I had X360 I use to install all games on HDD (couldn't stand the noise).
As much as some people would like it to be a fad, 3D is here to stay and in a few years time all TVs will have built in 3D functionality (just like all TVs have built in mpeg4 decoder nowadays and few years ago it was only some models).
It will simply be a feature that will be sold by default.

Tablets are far from ready to take over roles of consoles. For example, I was fiddling with colleague's iPad2 today and played need for speed on it. Graphics were incredibly crappy and controls clumsy to say the least.

@wicko, I am a consumer and I'm no longer happy with my PS3. Why? Because I saw the likes of BF3 (others will follow) and realized that my PS3 can't even dream of running something like that, certainly not in all of its glory.
And guess what? Thing will only get worse. X360 is even worse, console stuck with a prehistoric DVD drive with less power than PS3.
