Updating engine is like overclocking. Sure, you get a bit more performance, but nothing beats a brand new GPU.
With "Slim" Gabe around, we can expect some serious widening.
But seriously, Valve has had some decent games like L4D, L4D2, but nothing ground breaking. Where is Episode 3? Where is Half Life 3? Where is the new engine, source is 6 years old!

Yeah, PS2 had practically cult status in Croatia. PS3 countinued to follow in its footsteps. One of our most famous singers (died young of overdose) even requested that he was to be buried with PS3 version of Modern Warfare which was his favorite game.
