Well Microsoft's whole console was a copycat of the PS2. It doesn't matter who copied who, since the consumer doesn't care. The question is, when you pay your money with which console will your money be better spent? Gears 2 doesn't really look like much of an upgrade in comparison to Gears 1 graphically. HOWEVER, Gears 1 didn't really need an upgrade at all. It was already an amazing looking game and past Uncharted and MGS4 I don't think any game since then has been on that level graphically.
