Imagine how tacky it would be to use a stick with a ball on the end to control a game. But no one would be silly enough to do that though.

I don't know, maybe it's just one of those things I'll never understand. What I know is the gameplay for me is great while the watching the cutscenes isn't. But I don't want to skip all the cutscenes in the game because I won't know what's going on. I want the story without having to lay my controller down for 10 mins.
I'll say this, MGS on ps1 was spot on. One of my favourite games of all time, I loved it, had the gameplay down with a good story that wasn't pushy. After that it kinda lost its way for me.

That defeats the purpose of playing it, I want to know the story without having sat through an hour of cutscenes. Isn't there a better way to lead you through a story than making hours of cutscenes?
Maybe foxtheory, I appreciate that a lot of work went into the cutscenes and the story. But a cutscene automatically takes you away from the game, and afterall it is a game. Tons of cutscenes don't immerse you in to the game, they take you away from it.

I know maniacmayhem, the interaction in the game is terrible, it's almost as if the game maker didn't want to make a game but was a failed film director.
@GEESE: Wrong. I love games with a storyline, but I want to be the one that plays through them, I don't want to watch them.
