True, but the PS2 was 250$. Thats a far cry from 400$, though its only 150$ difference its a 60% increase. This was when the cheapest DVD player was around 300$ if I remember correctly. Also dvd didn't have any other competitors with similar quality.
And you didn't have to buy anything else to see the effects of DVD where as with HD movies you need an HD TV. That plus the fact that by the time HD TV are at least 1/2 of total US TVs owned then the stand alone price of each will...
The same people who bought the 20$ Six Axis? I'm not to sure why you think a sale price means bad quality.
But for BR, the PS3 is currently the best.
For HD its a toss up between the A2 and A3, since the A2 is 60 bucks cheaper.

Hmm because people exaggerate. Having played the game I can tell you that yes there are frame rates drops from time to times. Is it massive or game impeding? No not really.
As for why the PS3 gets it bad for frame rates. *shrug*
I assume that most people think it gets a 4/5 or whatever solely because of the frame rate and would refuse to admit that the gameplay itself is not worthy of a higher score. This in turn just makes other problems stand out more. Kind of like wh...
I don't see your point since HD and BR movies have roughly the same price. Sometimes HD is a little more, sometimes BR is a little more. But if you check Wal-Mart,Amazon,Best Buy and so on you'll see they all are about the same. Well except it would take 12 BR movies to equal the cost of the player instead of the 3 it would take for HD...

Actually I would be surprised if anyone in the storage market would support HD since it does not have the capability to store as much information as BR. But this isn't about storage space, its about movies. And movies don't need more than 50gig. Hence why this war is going on and on.
But if we were to talk about storage I would say that Holodisc should be mainstream in 6 or 7 years, so BR or HD would just be a stepping stone. Hell they say they will hold ab...
Umm its a declining trend on BR. It's not much of one but one none the less. But may I give some advice? Don't ever dabble in the stock market if you can not see a trend here. Trust me, you'll just lose bundles of money.
I love Disney. Why would they approve the 51gig if they were so certain BR was going to win? Since all that does is as they say "prolong the war" and really is of no benefit to anyone except HDDVD.

Your friend threw it away? I understand being frustrated if it failed 5 times, but throwing away a 300$ system when you can get it fixed for free is just stupid. He could have easily have just gotten it fixed then sold it on ebay for a bit of money. So either your a complete lier or your friend is an idiot, or rich.
