Usually the limit of how many player(16,32,64...) is dictated by how much the servers that host the games can handle and how the gameplay works with it. That meaning, GofW, game play wise is better suited to 4v4/5v5, where as Battlefield is more 32v32 based.
Still 256 is quite the feat.
Just curious as to why? Aside from the controller, you really can't tell which system you'd be playing it on unless you look at the console.
