Well, there where some big differences in this multiplat.
Definitely not the best movie based game...I would take X-Men Origins: Wolverine over this any day. The Terminator world would be the perfect fit for a FPS, if it didn't have to tie to the movie. And if they didn't have GRIN doing the development.
yeah, the Xbox 360 version of this game looks rough. It's amazing how bad a port can go.
They stream all of their capture session (640x480) to justin.tv to allow viewers to ask questions and influence the outcome via live chat. Then after the show they compile the HD footage and release the final Head2Head video and article to their site.
I have watched several of their live comparisons and it is definitely entertaining. Especially when they have been drinking. :D Not to mention if you have an issue with their opinions you can bring it up to them right then and there.
I am still bummed that this game has been delayed, but hopefully it will give the developers a few extra months to polish and add additional content. But for those of you that haven't played this demo, head out to your closest Best Buy or GameStop now. It's a lot of fun.
Wow. You must have gotten a superior version of RE5 for the PS3. No for real. They chose the exact same frame for each version and on that particular frame the shadow map on the PS3 just happened to be almost not there. You can see a shadow. But just barely. Just because there are differences that you cannot see doesn't mean they are photoshoped.
anyone that does comparisons will be considered "biased" if they say one version is better than the other. If they said the PS3 won then this thread would be full of xbox fanboys instead of the ps3 fanboys. You can't make everyone happy.
They did mention that in their article. I do think that it is a very slick feature, but more of a novelty than anything. But that is something that we won't be seeing on the Xbox 360 any time soon. Not until MS decides to loosen their protective grip on Xbox Live.
If they compared exclusives, it becomes even more subjective. There is no doubt in my mind that the PS3 has the better looking exclusives. It's just that in the grand scheme of a gaming library those are a small number.
If you own both systems it is a simple choice. Buy exclusives for both systems and all multi-platform games for the Xbox 360. That's the only way you will be guaranteed to play the games as the developer intended.
I understand what you are saying, when a game is developed for the PS3 the visuals are unmatched. And I agree. But exclusives only take up around 10% of the systems library. The other 90% is a mixed bag of ports. Some are equal and some have issues. For me, I own the PS3 for the exclusives only...and the rare price drops. I will take an inferior version for $10-$20 cheaper. :D
haha, so the Swine Flu can cause fanboyism? Wow, there are plenty of sick people on N4G then! QUARANTINE!!!!
I agree, its a rushed job to get it onto another platform to make extra cash. Of course it will sell, because most consumers do not realize how games are developed (main platform > secondary platform(s))and think that they are getting the exact same game. But some developers actually care about their products and make sure the conversion process is nearly identical. If only all publishers could be held to such standards. Then the war would be about exclusives and not third party games.
Yeah, it won but not by the margin you are making it out to be. And it is not the PS3's hardware at fault, it's the developers doing the port.
Well, they definitely are not moving over to the PS3 for third party games. We all know it is hit or miss with those. So it must be for the their strong line of exclusives and Blu-ray.
Actually comparisons should be very useful to real gamers. Why wouldn't a "real" gamer, who owns both consoles, want the better of the two games? I sure would. I agree that this game probably isn't the best to argue over, but the fact of the matter is that the Xbox 360 version did have less visual issues (frame drops, pop-up) and that makes it the winner.
And the purpose of any website, 3rd party or not, is to receive hits.
yes, I would take your word over a site that has done their homework and captured the video using the same hardware for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. They can't help the fact that the PS3 sucks at outputting video UNLESS it is over HDMI. The Xbox 360 doesn't seem to have a problem with either...
We all know that very little changes between demo code to final code. So this is a good indication of what is to come. And I will be playing it on the Xbox 360 because of it.
Wow, the screen tearing is unbelievable in this game. Who cares if it runs at 30fps when I have cuts throughout the frame! I would much rather have the fps dip a little.
Regardless, some of the most impressive destructible environments. Kudos to the art/programming team at Volition.
They used to broadcast their live show in 320x240 on justin.tv but recently got bandwidth/hardware upgrade to do 640x480. That's the highest resolution streaming that justin.tv offers.
Anyways, I am looking forward to seeing this in motion tonight. Should look good!
