Bought it last night and I am having a blast with it. But man, it can get tough!!!!
I just find it odd that they didn't utilize the open world more. Why have a sandbox if you are going to be linear?
lol! The part where you are stabbing a guy, turn around shoot a few others, then continue stabbing him is great. The combat looks like a lot of fun. Going to download this one tonight and give it a go.
This is the first PSP game I have looked forward to in a while. I really enjoyed the first game, it is just a shame that it won't be making a PS3 debut.
Everytime I see videos of this game in motion I think of Alien Swarm or old school Smash TV with the mulit-directional firing and spread weapons. I am going to have to at least try the demo.
I decided to RedBox the game and played it for a few hours. Overall not bad but not that great either. I too enjoyed the rendering style, but the shakycam must go!!!
The HAWX series is very pretty much the Project Gotham Racing of the flight world. Not quite a simulator, not quite arcade controls. I have a feeling anyone that spends sometime with the control scheme will find the game a good mix of fun and challenge.
Personally I loved the movie and I haven't read any of the graphic novels. It was fun, fresh and had great fight sequences.
The video effects at times make you think you are watching crappy, compressed pre-rendered cinematics...but it's not. So you are either going to like the art direction or hate it.
I agree, I wonder what some of the creative names he came up with for Sam? Twentyfive attempts to beat a boss seems like a hell of a difficulty spike!
I just hope that they get the PS3 version all situated before launch. They should have never released the demo in that condition. We all know the PS3 is capable of so much more.
I agree that Nintendo should be on the list, but really a lot of Nintendo games are done by other developers and not Nintendo themselves (Wario Shake It!, Metroid: Other M, Donkey Kong Returns, etc). Really the Galaxy series is the strongest thing Nintendo has released this generation.
Great list and I agree with the orders for the most part. I really wish that Guerrilla Games was on the list, but I guess they only did one game (released) so far this generation.
I have to admit that I am a wuss when it comes to this game. I had to drop the difficulty. :( So much fun, but man can the bad guys pile up on you!
Precisely and I wonder if the Kotaku guy was logging his times, post patch, while connected to PSN. If so, that may be the reason for the off numbers.
But at least their findings aren't as radically different as Kotaku's. Some of their load times were +29 seconds and + 11 seconds! I am just glad to see the main racers load quick.
I will admit that I only played the demo of this game, but I was never really pulled into it. Most of the destruction happened far too soon to make you have that "oh crap" moments.
I loved the first one minus the tagged on rpg elements. I hope that they remove that from uns2. Seriously though, this game looks beautiful. Nice gallery!
A little late on the review, but I guess better late then never. It is a fun game and I would highly recommend it, just not for $59.00. The only reason I got it was from all my Amazon rewards. $29.00 was the magic price for me.
I was really looking forward to getting this one until I found out it is pretty much the console version renamed. I already own Worms 2: Armageddon for the 360. So do I need it again on the PC? Not sure.
