Very true, it would have been on the list but I wanted to keep it to only games that could be downloaded and played without paying any money. Great suggestion though!
OH most definitely, looking forward to that. This post was focused on MMORPGs - I will be making a separate post for other types of free games to keep an eye on this year :)
Who's to say he/she hasn't played it?
You make some good points, especially in regards to the name recognition of the company. I think it will definitely be marketed towards the PC gaming crowd since you need a GTX 560 or better PC to even stream anything to begin with and those people will most assuredly know who Nvidia are.
Time will tell, as they say, so I look forward to seeing how it goes.
Couldn't agree more. No online = fail.
Well I never said it was the first ever, I said "essentially created," I meant more in the aspect that they perfected and popularized it :)
Yeah, I mean not having underwater levels is one thing, but just stating that she can't swim at all? That seems a little silly...especially given that she is ship wrecked on, you know, an island that is kind of surrounded by, I don't know, water!
Oh well, I'm sure it won't affect the actual quality of the game. I guess Crystal Dynamics just wanted to focus on other things and didn't even bother implementing it in this one.
Good idea. The intention of this article is basically to voice my opinion that like you stated, the game is not out yet. I also think these games have markedly different approaches in terms of game design and storytelling. Saying that one will be objectively "better" than the other is kind of silly.
Excellent choice of image to use on N4G...well played. Lol
Thinking of a world without Legend of Dragoon makes me a lot sadder than I think is considered normal and socially acceptable :(
Very true, to think that the world would not have gotten so many games is weird. Then again, maybe the games would have been even better? Probably not though, competition spurs innovation.
Seriously...things would be SO different in SO many ways. It's really interesting to think about. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a one-system industry at this point that was pretty much all digital.
Alas, it is all speculation, though.
This game made me cry like a baby at the end. I am man enough to be okay with admitting that.
Great list, I'm really happy to see Dragon's Dogma on that list, totally underrated and overlooked game. I reviewed it for The Koalition and it was in my top 5 games of the year, personally.
Once again, nice list!
I can tell you which game it isn't: Operation Raccoon City! LOL
You just named three Vita games, lol. P4 isn't a new game, G Rush isn't really an RPG, it's just an action game with upgrades and Ragnarock Odyseey is hardly one of the best games this year. Although, it is pretty fun for what it is.
No Amalur? No Dragon's Dogma? NO GUILD WARS 2? Maaaaan....
Scrivlar, that was an honest question. This article wasn't even specifically about Skyrim. The picture just fits the theme of the article extremely well. If you had read the article before assuming and commenting, you would have noticed that.
The article is about the trend of developers releasing games before they are finished and simply patching them and releasing DLC for content and features that should have been included to being with.
Did you read the article? I'm assuming you couldn't be bothered to.
Actually, three of the games on the list have action focused gameplay (C9, TERA and Neverwinter) so you should definitely look into those!
