I was surprised that Samus wasn't on this list. Otherwise, nice picks.
However, I will point out that roughly half of your picks were actually supporting/non-playable characters in "their" games that were shown alongside leading men...Food for thought.
I disagree :)
I'm curious as to why not. As you can tell from the comments thus far, people are actually agreeing with the list for the most part. It's just my opinion after all :)
Let me know if you changed your mind and decided to read it.
That's part of how gamers can let their voices be heard, yes, but that doesn't solve the issue. I like to live in a fantasy land where I believe developers want to make innovative and unique games :)
I know, I know though...wishful thinking.
The ship analogy is nice, if we were talking about something that simply serves the purpose of having a singular utility, ie: transportation. When it comes to games though, I feel like developers get too wrapped up in trying to deliver an experience "consistent with the property" instead of actually pushing things forward.
I agree that some reboots and overhauls have been successful (Tomb Raider comes to mind, recently) but that wasn't a franchise that was being...
Really nice and honest review. I'm finding a bit more flaws with it so far myself, but I'll wait until I finish it to pass any kind of final judgement. Good game so far!
I've always been kind of annoyed by this term. Stuff like this is entirely subjective, but society puts labels on groups of people for targeting them easily.
Great article though, really insightful on the topic.
I agree with every word of this 100%. Your fingers weaved my threads of thought into beautiful words.
Yeah that's referenced in the opening and is sort of assumed to basically be in the works already.
Great list. Adam Sessler is the reason I got into writing about gaming!
Out of curiosity - did you even read the article?
Hopefully being a great console "for developers" results in them being able to make better games more easily. If that happens, as it should, then that in turn leads to a better experience for gamers.
I think the general idea is that a better console "for developers" is a prerequisite to a better console "for gamers." That's the IDEA I think...time will tell!
Both games are in the other mentioned sections actually :)
I would really like to see a sequel to L.A. Noire for technological reasons mostly. It would be a fantastic game to usher in the next generation, as I'm sure the facial mapping, voice acting and NPC emotions would be out of this world on new hardware.
I wasn't a fan of the story and how tedious the first game got after a while, but it's an incredible technical achievement I'd love to see pushed even further.
Given the way Redeption ends, a DIRECT sequel makes a lot of sense actually. I could see it going in a lot of different directions. I would definitely love to play that game.
This is great! Those cookies look delicious :D
Yeah :( I felt really dumb but we didn't feel like going back and restarting...LOL
*Looks at comment, then looks at title* Wut.
Before reading this, my pick, personally, goes to Darksiders 2. That being said, I have not played Far Cry 3 yet.
I'm confused on how this is a reply to my comment...?
