The first thing I thought of was how is this going to handle the heat aswell. The size of the ps4 makes me a bit hesitant, is it going to handle multiple hours of none stop gaming?

I know sony knows hardware so they better not F*** this UP.

@ Stanlee

You know you don't have to own an always online console to be connected. MS could have done the same dam thing with xbone with out always online.

"It's called hypocrisy"

NO it's not, not even close to hypocrisy. You get more then you give with ps plus, and that is a hell of a lot more then you have or ever will get with xboxlive.

third-party publishers "may opt in or out of supporting game resale and may set up business terms or transfer fees with retailers", according to Microsoft.

You forgot the end of the sentence, that's MS deal not Sonys.

If consumers buy the xbone MS will never remove the DRM.
If gamers want MS to change their stance they have to vote with their wallet or nothing will change.

I'm "guessing" MS thought Sony would follow suit, and since sony didn't this is going to blow up in MS face.

Well people seem to miss use the word free, it's a payed service, an excellent one at that. The best gamer friendly service on any of the consoles.
I was going to buy Driveclub day one and continue my ps plus subscription. I guess it's a win win for me.

Digital downloads are not the same as disc based, they never have been and I think the gaming community accepts that.

PSplus is also nothing like live, xboxlive takes, ps plus gives back games every month. PS plus gives about 3 games a month (or 36 games a year)for your $50 a year subscription. One could really stop buying games as long as you keep ps plus you will still continue to grow your gaming library.

MS target audience is NOT gamers (core or casual)... MS is trying to target the average couch potato who care more about TV, movies and social media apps.

MS keeps slapping gamers in the face , but the message just isn't sinking in. MS doesn't care if they lose gamers as long as they're replaced by their true target audience.

@ Matt...

I payed $50 for plus last June , and my ps plus game collection is up to close to 40 games now and counting. So even though it may not have been free, you can't tell me that it wasn't worth it.

Ps3 PS vita and PS4 ... altogether is $50 a year ,and with Driveclub at PS4 launch... can anyone really tell me this is a bad deal?

Media services are still free and ps plus isn't anything like xboxlive, there is far greater val...

Ya, it really sucks... for your $50 a year subscription you get ps plus with the ps3 ps vita and ps4 all in one, aswell as Driveclub at the ps4 launch. Retail for Driveclub alone is most likely $60 and that is just one game, not to mention the almost 40 games already on the ps3... wow , who wouldn't want ps plus?

You still get netflex and all that other media crap with out ps plus.

$50 a year for instant game collection... why would you stop paying? Or would it be better to pay full retail price for the same games. You still would come out on top with plus no matter how you look at it.

You get PS plus for PS Vita PS3 and PS4 all in one. One price for games on all 3 systems. I already have ps plus and all the games that have come out on it since day one.

Driveclub alone is worth a one year subscription of plus...

You can also trade games between friends= borrow or lend games. Although you do want to be careful who you trade games with if you ever want to see them again.

Greenpowerz... why are you so willing to blindly pay a company/corporation to take your rights as a consumer away?

If MS is successful with the xbone and it's drm, they will only try to push the limits further and try to take even more rights and powers from "US" as consumers.WE as consumers are the ones who empower companies like MS when we support them.

I will not support any company who tries to take away my rights as a consumer , and th...

The problem with always online is not having a choice.
1) If the servers go down you can't play.
2) If for some reason your internet goes down you can't play.

Hopefully XBONE will have in big bold letters on the box "MUST HAVE INTERNET CONNECTION" or there will be some pissed off causals who didn't do their research before buying it.

well I can see them selling a cool billion. If it sells aswell as the 360, then it should only take around 100 years or so ... give or take a few years.

MS is pushing the xbox core gamer right into sony's arms, it would be far more profitable for sony not to follow MS and their used games policy.
Do you really think sony hasn't considered the ramifications of MS actions to it's core gamers.

This could lead to sony having a much larger install base, sony isn't and never was planning to screw that up.

Online passes are up to the developer/publisher.

Paying $10 for an online pass is a hell off a lot different then having to pay full price for any game.
