I care about the games I own, which in turn would mean I must care about b/c to keep all my games on the current platform. Unfortunately for me I happen to support the platform that doesn't support b/c.
I do have confidence the ps5 will have b/c
I waited to long to edit my post, but I wanted to add one thing.
I don't expect Sony to add b/c to the ps4 and at this point in the gen I don't believe they should use the resources too. But I do believe that it should not be ignored on the ps5, and I don't see any reason why Sony wouldn't use the same architecture so that it could be done quite easily for future generations.
Well now that digital distribution is becoming more mainstream and all these ps3 and ps4 games are tied to my Psn account, then I think it is more then fair to say that backwards compatibility should be a standard.
You don't have this problem on pc, every game I have ever bought on steam is going to be there to play.
I have hundreds of games and Dlc worth thousands but I can only access my ps4 games. I would hope that when the ps5 comes out that Son...
So what happens when your console dies? They no longer produce the ps3

Give it a rest, as a ps4 fan I would gladly accept backwards compatibility as a standard feature on my favourite console. I don't get why this is an issue for some of Sony fans but it's a feature that should be embraced.
It sounds like you guys are arguing with yourselves right now.
I am all for backwards compatibility and I am and always have been a playstation fan.
Well I don't see the problem with bringing my digital ps3 games over to ps4. And I sure as fuck better be able to bring my digital library from ps4 to the ps5. I really don't think that's to much to ask.
All you guys who think bc is pointless... well that maybe fine for you, but my psn account is worth thousands in digital content and I would like to have access to all of it on the most current console.
As a ps4 fan I am all for backwards compatibility. It really should be a standard on any platform, although I do get why the ps3 games are not bc but that doesn't change the fact that I believe all Sony games should be playable on the most current console.
Just because many don't or won't use it doesn't mean that it should be ignored.
I would say this gen is a right off for BC, but I have a large digital library from ps3 and obviously still working on my ps4 digital library that I would like to be able to use on Sony consoles.
I don't think it's to much to ask that the games I buy are BC on Sony's platforms.
You're obviously not very smart if you believe that.
Just saying
Some of you seem to talk about Scorpio as if it's next gen, how far are dev's really going to be able to push it while also having to cater to the xb1?
If you want to see the true power of the Scorpio then MS needs to forget about the xb1 and push Scorpio to the next gen.
There would be so many sad faces
😢😢😢
Taking a hit or loss this late in the generation doesn't make much sense. If you are going to sell at a loss you do it at the beginning of a generation for market share.
I can almost guarantee that MS is not going to take a hit if we are beyond the mid way point of this gen, they are way to far behind and it's way to late.
I love this game, I found out in the game it is cross platform. I was in the game on my ps4 with 3 guys on pc, I had no idea at the time.
This is a great game, but I am kind of surprised all the VR haters aren't in here bashing.
He took the entire stock to force his own agenda. Then took this photo giving everyone the finger, what does that say to consumers just wanting a switch?
He could have taken a few, yet he took them all.

Xbox live also isn't free... what were you saying?

It will be on steam, last time I checked Valve wasn't owned by MS.
I never leave my ps4 in rest mode, just turn your ps4 completely off when you are do then you won't have this problem.
Obviously this shouldn't be happening in the first place.
Ps2 was backwards compatible with ps1, the original ps3 was backwards compatible with ps1 and ps2. It had become a basic standard that was consumer friendly.
I don't get why people would say it's not wanted or needed. Sure the ps3 architecture is what is most likely preventing b/c on ps4, but this should change for the next gen and should become the basic standard again.
We shouldn't even have to ask for this feature it should just be there from the b...
