If you're talking about windows as an OS then ya, but not when it comes to gaming on pc or even a platform on pc.
A 5 year old pc with an Intel CPU would be a third gen CPU. Even a first gen I5 or i7 with a decent GPU and ram can play any game on the market today.
I still use a first gen i5 750 CPU which is 8 years old, obviously I need to upgrade but that's not my point.
2 or 3 years from now the generation will be over.
Being Canadian, we pay at least 25% more for our electronics and games then Americans do and then add on the tax's.
The xb1x is probably going to cost Canadians close to $700 after tax's, this mid gen upgrade ever few years is not needed and I will never buy into it.
