Nintendo started out with playing cards so this isn't unusual.

I just know Nintendo has like a 3-4 day turn around time on repairs.
2 weeks is too long.
Sounds like a bad power supply.
Now I have heard of PS3 drives sticking or failing...not sure if you can troubleshoot that or not.
I expect this game to load to the HDD before it actually plays to help load times.

Mine gets played no-more then my PS2 did.
My friend has both PS3 and Wii and he plays his PC more.
