Whats the point of HD-DVD and Blu-Ray remakes of same old movies?
I mean really? They don't look any better then a upscaled ver. and they cost almost twice as much for basically what is the same content on my DVD ver.
I could see this for new movies, but not for old movies.
I hope DX10 gets hacked and then ported over to both Linux and OSX.
Because then their is no reason to use Vista at all.
It's stupid to kill over any console.
This is why you buy a dedicated player to play movies in your theater sys.
Hey HDMI 1.4 is probably only a yr away.
Prepare to be outdated in 12 months or so.
If you want the best, buy a dedicated Blu or HD player.
I learned this back in the old PS2 days.
If a price cute happens it will happen in Japan first.

Most bought a 360 first.
3-6 months later they buy the HD-DVD add on.
6 months later they buy a Blu-Ray add on.
Spread over a period of time spending $200-300 bucks on a drive isn't so bad.

If the story is true this could mean the end of HD-DVD by sometime in 2008-09'.

MS is going the PC route, support both and see who falls.
Either way MS makes money.
I would like a dual format sys, but for right now I could careless as I need an HDTV first and thats not going to happen until 2009'. Maybe by then I can buy a HD/Blu player for $199-299 bucks.
My fear is this one could be worse then Spiderman 3.
And I also hear Sony bought the rights for 3 more dam Spiderman movies.

If the Wii can run the Unreal engine 3 then we know the Wii has some power under the hood.
I would say the drive alone probably cost around $500-600 bucks.
Rumor is Apple will start releasing Mac's with dual formats as well.
It was to have a Blu-Ray back in Jan'...but it never happened.
It is said the new Leo OS supports both formats.
Probably $20 bucks or so.

As a photographer I try to create photos I like first and then hope everyone else likes them as well.
(If I can't enjoy the photo I doubt anyone else can.)
If I listen to everyone my photos just become convoluted and a re-hash of old work.

I'm still using an old TV..actually most my friends are too.
We're waiting for our old TV's to die or until Feb 2009.
Save your money and buy it on DVD.
Same Sh!t different format...or better yet buy it used on DVD.
