Wii is doing the business. How much further does it have to get in front before the other two also rans have to admit they are fighting for 2nd.
Or is it the fact that a much heralded console like the PS3 is being beaten to a pulp by a console that is considered last gen. Maybe, just maybe nintendo has hit the right mix. Casuals and gamers alike. I have been playing games since the Nes days and I only own a Wii out of this gen consoles. I must of gone to a casual gamer somewhere along the line. LOL

Waverace with the wii board would be awesome. Can you imagine standing on the board swaying from side to side while turning with the wiimote. All you would need is someone splashing you with water and you would be there actually doing the real thing.
And yet it still is being smashed by the Wii a "last gen" console or toy as you guys call it. You guys had better wake up and realise the PS3 will never be number 1.
Whats wrong with Mario. Yes he is in a lot of games but guess what those games sell. As a company you would be idiotic not to use that power to make a profit. If Sony or MS had a character as well known and sellable they would use it too.

300k is a respectable number for a game that will have long legs unlike certain other consoles whose games seem to hit with a bang and then disappear without a trace.
Nintendo tripled their sales on last year. Huge increase.
Wii 150k in front of PS3. Its interesting that nearly everyone in this post has said how well PS3 is selling but it is being thumped by the Wii. And this happens just about every week. Look how far it is ahead of the PS3 in totals WW. It is now 12m in front and has more than doubled the PS3's total sale. Not bad for a "toy". LOL
If that is your real name if the Wii is a toy then guess what. So is the PS3. And this "toy" is selling faster than Nintendo can make them. And it's selling more software too.
And BTW it's got nothing to do with how many consoles you sell. Or how much software you sell. It's all about profit. When was the last time that Nintendo posted a loss for a year. I can't remember it ever happening. The gaming division of sony has made many losses over the years and many profits...
The fiscal year finished about 6 days ago. 31 st of march to be precise. How is that last year.
Casuals are where the money is. Why do you think the DS is such a monster. The brain training games, Nintendogs,Big Brain academy, Mario Party DS, all multi million sellers and all games Sony and MS would scoff at making. Yet it keeps the DS selling and the profit continues to come in.
The Wii is heading down the same path. It may not suit the hardcore gamers but it is where the money is. MS and Sony will try the same path next Gen because they are being left behind in the sales ...
Vgchartz isn't perfect. But it is very close to what is happening. Do you know that Charttrack, Famitsu and NPD are all worked out in the same way. Why do you beleive that any of them are any closer to the actual figures.
So your saying the PS3 is being bought by people that don't use it for gaming. Only for people who want high def movies. I do not think Sony will be too happy with this.

Gameplay does. Thats a fact. If your game is the most beautiful game ever made but plays like a brick then its still a crap game but if a game looks like crap but plays well then its still a great game.
PS360. Yes definitely. But Nintendo wanted to do its own thing and while Sony and MS beat each other to a bloody pulp Nintendo continues on selling out its "Gamecube 1.5"
