Wii has broken the all time sales of a home console for a week. Well done Wii. And DS is over 2 million last week too.
1. Had a price cut
2. Had colours which will drive up demand.
3. Hasn't had great 3rd party support(but it is chaging slowly)
And yet it is still destroying the competition. If sales started to wane then a $200 coloured Wii would put them to where they are now.

I am a user of this site but because of the sony fanboys on this site I rarely write anything anymore. Most are ok but there are a select few(I won't mention names) that make it hard to have a sensible discussion on this site.
Its not as much a waste of money as the PS3 is. See we can do it too. Just enjoy your console and let everyone else enjoy theirs.
I couldn't agree any more if I tried. The Wii has the best controls for FPS and I think conduit will prove this.While they won't give Goldeneye the Wii controls it is still an awesome game and should be allowed to be played by all.
Nintendo does it again. Smashing the competition. What can Sony and MS do to stop this stampede that Nintendo has got?

How can you prove with any numbers that Europe loves Sony. Why don't you go to vgchartz and see for yourself. Every country/region is dominated by DS and Wii. And Italy which is an apparent stronghold for sony, DS and Wii sold 2 out of 3 consoles/handhelds. Nintendo is flying and Sony and MS are struggling to keep pace with them.
The article was about the first 19 months of life of each console. It isn't a fair comparison if a console has been out for 12 months longer.
Has the Wii passed the gamecube in sales. Its about 2 million away from N64 sales and is not showing any signs of slowing down. So even if the Wii stopped selling now it would be more successful than the GC so the current strategy is working and by all accounts it will continue to work.
OT All 3 manufacturers would be working on the next console and if they aren't then what are they doing.
I have more trust in vgchartz numbers than any of your fanboys numbers. You guys say one week when your console loses "it vgchartz they can't be trusted" then the next"wow we won thats awesome".LOL
Anyway the Wii continues to thump the HD consoles. Again and again and again. Becoming quite boring actually.
How much longer can the 360 and PS3 continue while being embarassed by that little white box. They need to do something drastic to turn this race around. And all the while Nintendo hasn't had a price cut or announced coloured Wii's yet.
Even with MGS and GTA the HD consoles cannot compete. Nintendo rocks
Actually Wii sells more 3rd party software than the PS3 does. Sure the Wii is double The install base of the PS3 but it does struggle to get good 3rd party games due to the unusual controller interface and lazy companies trying to make a quick dollar.

Which numbers are you looking at.Because the PS3 is not looking good in the market share at the moment or hadn't you noticed.
How do you measure a companies success. Consoles sold? Profitability? If its the former then yeah Sony was successful but with profit Nintendo has yet to post a negative profit. Now that seems successful.
Also I don't class the PS3 as successful yet. Its struggled to overcome a high pricepoint and a lack of games which it is starting to get over and produce games that might be worth buying. But it isn't successful by any means and the only way Sony(games division) stay in the bla...
that the Ps3 was the console to own this gen and it was going to crush all before it. Including the Wii at a much lower price. But look what has happened.
The Wii is owning the PS3 nearly everywhere. Maybe 3 or 4 countries(Spain and Italy come to mind) prefer the PS3 but everywhere else Wii is dominating. I work at a retail store in Australia and we have a huge gaming sale coming up in a couple of weeks. Guess what. Over 300 Wiis will be available and "only" 24 PS3's. S...
Nintendo didn't loose money on the 64 and the Gamecube. Infact they were making more money than Sony(gaming division) right through the PS2/GC gen.
OT I don't know where Nintendo will go in the future but I will be there behind them because they make the BEST games in the business.
with GT5P. The london track specifically. It felt like a arcade game not a simulation. And the driving felt all wrong on all the tracks. How can you drive around a corner at 50-60 kph and understeer. It just felt wrong and I hope they fix it.
