Actually Shuhei mentioned it a couple years ago in an interview as well. These things don't get made overnight, they've been in development stages for years.
We can safely say that the first to release was the first to think of the idea. It seems the PS4 NEO might come out this holiday. We haven't heard anything about the new Xbox so that might be really far off.
Apple products blow away the competition in real-world benchmarks and performance. They are in no way underpowered.

The humor in Sunset Overdrive just isn't my thing. I got it free via Games with Gold. Played it a little and I doubt I'm ever going back. It's just not for me.

It's advertising for the beta season. Not unheard of that Microsoft is pumping all it can into it. It's really the only AAA exclusive they have this year and the franchise used to be synonymous with the Xbox brand. They have a lot riding on Gears 4 and this game will determine the fate of Gears in the future.
May 1st? Seems a bit early to me with Black Ops 3 still being pretty popular with the masses.
I think this year they'll wait for E3.
