Q: Are Sony’s new 4K TVs a good fit for PS4 Pro?
While we won’t provide a specific recommendation for PS4 Pro at this time, Sony has a long history of designing TVs with advanced technology, and that reputation has extended to the 4K TV realm.
Straight from Sony themselves. They are not recommending any brand of TVs at all. It...

As you can see, Sony isn't pimping out their own TVs for the PS4 Pro. The...
Not upscaling, checker-board rendering technique. There is a difference, check out digital foundry for their PS4 Pro impressions.
A small living room or family room is about 5-6ft between the couch and the TV. It's not unhealthy or uncomfortable at all. Although it is preferable to wall-mount a 65" TV when you are viewing it this close, this makes the viewing angles much better no matter where you sit on the sofa or anywhere in the room. Also a huge wall-mounted TV just looks amazing in any room.
This is false. Even on a computer monitor, the difference between 720p and 1080p is very noticeable.
I don't even know if they sell 40" 4K HDR TVs but if you can find one then you should go ahead and buy it. You WILL see a difference.
I don't even think the TV manufacture make high-end 1080p TVs anymore. The best panels are on the 4K sets even on non-4K content.
Got my 65" 4K HDR tv last holiday :D
(To those looking for a 4K HDR TV, make sure you get a good one. For example, a 4K $500 won't cut it. It won't even have HDR capabilities. Do research before impulse buying a shitty TV on Black Friday just because its on sale...)
I don't see any comparison, where is it? I was expecting to see some side by side comparisons of the same scene but what I get is typical gamingbolt clickbait.
Yeah they should follow Rise Of The Tomb Raiders example and offer multiple modes.
A lot of developers prefer more eye candy over better frame rate.
I'm ok with it. Really only multiplayer games actually benefit from 60FPS.
Games with active communities need to put out a Pro patch. It only makes sense that gamers who play Destiny, Overwatch or even GTA V will want to continue playing it on their PS4 Pro but with better graphics or performance.
It's fan service and its good PR.
For those of us who will buy the PS4 Pro, it is good to know that developers are forced to support it with their new games. I mean otherwise there would be no point in releasing a console that may or may not get supported.
Us gamers won't be able to buy "Pro Mode" features, you get it?
It will cost money to developers though who have to spend some extra development time and manpower to patch older games.
It does, depending on the game.
You have to understand that the developers will choose what they will do with the extra horsepower. Rise Of The Tomb Raider has many 3 different modes at various resolutions/frame rate. I expect more games to follow this route to appease not only 4K Tv owners but 1080p TV owners.
I heard Bungie is hard at work on Destiny 2 though so maybe they won't bother?
Rise Of Iron comes out right before the cut-off date for mandatory Neo(PS4 Pro) patch....
Why not Amazon? No money down....
Nice ad.
This is normal.
If you care about graphics and performance? Yes.
If not then no.
You don't need a 4K TV to take advantage of the PS4 Pro.
PS4P offers improved graphics and/or performance even on a 1080p display. How much improvement will depend on the game.
Edit: Like others have said, PS4 Pro is great for those who don't even have a PS4 yet. So many people are still playing on PS3s and Xbox 360s....
No, they don't. They aren't recommending any TV at all, its up to you to pick up a good TV, hopefully with full HDR support.
