I think the handheld market is more for females, I know my mom even plays ds/3ds, as well as my nieces. Not saying it is that way everywhere but from what I know that is a factor.
I love my vita, and ps+ makes it a freaking insanely good deal. The problem lies in mobile devises, Sony's piss poor marketing (as usual), and the fact that Nintendo has had a stronghold on the handheld market since the beginning of time lol.
Handhelds are more for kids (I almost never use either of mine as I have grown older) and parents know mario and pokemon.
Go look at sales of the past gen... MS is living proof, they have no variety, yet look at sales. I disagree though, gamers do not like change. Hence why sequels continue to dominate charts. CoD has continued to dominate for years. Myself included, I quit Uncharted mp and Resistance Mp because of their changes (CoD changes they made however). Not everyone has the money to own all three consoles though. Or in my case I simply do not see an Xbox as a wise investment. I found that funny lmao, and as soon as I seen Uncharted, I realized that word can no longer be used in normal sentences.
Many open world games to struggle with an engrossing story, I think RDR is one that did it quite well (maybe because I am a redneck = P) but it is a hard thing to do.
On topic, I am surprised the first Uncharted wasnt mentioned, I do not know how many people and articles I read that were pissed at the super natural twist.
I dont think the graphics will be that much of a difference. I will probably notice frame rate most. 60 fps in the mp is going to be awesome!
A lot of people switched from 360 to PS4. I will be buying the game again = P lol. I dont mind one bit supporting something so fantastic. Plus I am hoping it reinvigorates the MP, cuz the MP is a lot of fun, and wont have a split community since everyone will have all the dlc.

You are right over hype is the problem. I feel Sony's will be the same way. Especially with how much emphasis they put into gamescom, and how many of their studios are Euro and Japan based, I'm guessing they won't throw all their eggs on the E3 basket.

Could not agree more, in my opinion UC2 Mp was possibly the best mp of last gen, it got lessened by patch 1.05 and UC3 was utter trash, all to cater the casual. Resistance was the same mess, great mp, R2 tried to cater to the journalists and bullet points, R3 was a mass market attempt.

I have been saying this for forever, it is like $60 dollar games are leaning towards a free to play model. It is ridiculous! It is only going to get worse if you support those games, let alone pay to unlock things faster. It will begin to effect game design in major ways if it continues to grow.
If you are competitive you will find that a 23" monitor or so actually helps your game. Just a heads up, give it a shot. I have done both, and now I cannot go back to my big TV for gaming. Unless its a casual sit back session.
Me not playing Sunset Overdrive has nothing to do with resolution = P, I wouldnt trust Insomniac with $60 of mine. Last 3 times I did was nothing but utter disappointment. Also I do not think it is spreading to the casual, most casuals I know that have an X1 dont even know what the game is.
