Go to metacritic and look at the Top 20 Xbox 360 games; they are ALL MULTIPLATFORM. Also, none of them can beat MGS4, LBP and Uncharted 2. Hell, none can beat UC2 and Killzone 2 in graphics, let alone the first uncharted.
Half of Wii games sold with the Wii are Nintendo games. The fact that the Wii sells with Wii Sports doesn't help much, many casuals just get the Wii for that game and never buy another game again (let alone use their Wii). Others just buy it for exercising and maybe get an additional controller (that's what Wii Play is for). So basically Nintendo has those three game sales almost guaranteed, and if it's not those, then the Nintendo fanboys will get one of the dozens of Mario games that are av...
N64 didn't need CDs, but it would have been much better off with it. Blu-ray is not needed, but something better than DVD is definitely needed, and Blu-ray is better. HD-DVD failed, and nothing else is mainstream, so Blu-ray is the only product able to fill that niche.

Nintendo has outsourced all of their hardware since they entered the game industry, that includes the NES whose insides were made in most part by Ricoh. Not like that's a bad thing, it's simply ignorant to say Sony doesn't make hardware and Nintendo does (lmfao). In fact, it's good for Nintendo as making hardware is not one of their core competencies.
Sony owns the Cell IP, it was co-developed by them in conjunction with Toshiba and IBM; Kutaragi was very involved in that project...
Uh, yeah, a huge bunch of Xbox fanboys. But there's a difference, PS2 and Xbox had DVD9, both of them, so what was being held back? Xbox was easy to develop for, so it was easy to use its additional power over the PS2.
For the PS3, it's the other way around. It's just very hard, but... Uncharted 2 has about triple the amount of polygons per character than the first one, even though the first one had already twice the polygon count of Gears of War. So it is possible.
