It will become serious when it actually puts up a challenge for experienced gamers.
These games would be great but consistently lack challenge and seem like more of an event walkthrough.
Why not do that made like the new Bioshock is pushing ... 1999 mode or whatever. 3 lives and game over entirely! That would be a good challenge.
A few good fluky reviews does not make Destructiod believeable.
And even saying that, U3 was a 9 at best.

Im skeptical about the WiiU. Not sure if it will win the show for them like the article predicts. There is alot of 50/50 vibes coming from developers about it, like how it is and isnt as powerful as current gen consoles and how developers arent even considering making games for it.

At least you are trying to cater for all. I couldnt see myself using that tablet style controller for anything other than novelty games at best so would have been quite happy skipping this Ninty product for the first time in my life.

Im thinking that the demos are going to be great for gamers, not so much the developers.
Try before you buy always a good thing. But here's the flip side of that, if you demo a bad game this may harm your sales.
I would have straight out bought Resistance, but having the option of the demo, chose to give it a try instead. Unfortunately (for the publisher) I wont be buying it based on what I played.

Sure, I can play a FPS on my large LED TV, but I can also bring my Vita 20cms from my face and plug in some great noise cancelling headphones and be far more involved in the game than I would with my TV.

If the same situation was happening to a Vita game as it is with Metro on the WiiU, everyone would be banging on about how bad it is to have a port. Just saying jokes :)

Multiplatform is not porting if it is the same game and released in the same approximate timeframe!
Graphics do not make a game! Otherwise Nintendo would not be in business any more as their machines graphically have all been about 1 - 1/2 a gen behind the Sony and MS consoles.
So AC3 could comfortably run on a Vita, the car...
surely with all that is going on on PSN they will be announcing their entire back catalog on Vita via a slight push in the back from Sony?!

Also making a Vita release takes a bit more time these days to get it "approved" by Sony NA. Yes you read that correctly, a Vita version is coming....
I think there is also a wishful thinking version coming too. I wouldn't be at all suprised if HL3 never got released and they abandoned it altogether. Portal 3 would be far more lucrative.
