I'm a big fan of Gen 1 and haven't played Pokemon since the GBA. So I'm going to enjoy it, I think.
But it might be a $30 or $40 title rather than the $60 full-sized new Pokemon title that most people want.
I don't think it's going to be nearly as bad as most people think it will be, but it might be a little short compared to later titles because gen 1 had a smaller world.
I've heard that these controllers from 8bitdo are really flakey. They will work for a while and then just die on you. Anyone have any experience with them?
Microsoft won't do anything with these IP's. They are dead and won't be seen in the gaming world for maybe another 20+ years.
Eventually someone in the far future will buy the IP back from Microsoft for pennies on the dollar and do something with it again.

I loved Phantasia and Xilia. I haven't played Vesperia but I can't say the characters look at all interesting. They look a bit young... and flat.

At first most MMO's were subscription model. Only a handful of them were able to make it work, and two decades later there are a whole lot of MMO's out there and the vast majority of them are free to play.

I was looking at the PSN just the other day. I noticed they had added a lot of the shin megami tensei and persona titles. I wish they would add Ghost in the Shell from both Ps1 and Ps2. GitS was easily my favorite FPS on the Ps2. Both the single player and multiplayer were awesome.
I don't know. I'm kind of happy they kept it a dedicated mobile game. You know what the alternative would have been - a cross platform game with mobile controls on PC. Which is always craptastic.
Let this game burn in a dumpster fire, and maybe Blizzard will concentrate on a nice PC game for us.

Pretty much this. There's a huge difference in the quality of the game lineup. The NES and SNES classic had Nintendo's quality AAA titles. Everyone who buys a Nintendo is going to like at least one of Nintendo's titles, because that's what drives sales.

I was saying back at release they could sell over 20 million the first year, if not for production hangups. They couldn't source enough of some chip and couldn't manufacture them fast enough to meet demand.
I still think they could have. If they had been able to ship them fast enough, they could have sold over 20 million during year 1. The demand was there.

I don't understand all the hate for Bethesda. IMO they are one of the best game companies. They aren't filling their games with microtransactions, lootboxes, or excessive DLC. Their games are huge open worlds that give you a great value for your $ and when they do make DLC they make it worth it. Look at Shivering Isles - it doubled the size of Elder Scrolls IV.
So what if their engine is old? They've had time to polish it. Not switching to a new engine with ever...
